This is the greatest opening line in a Wikipedia article that I have ever read.

I can see why they’re your ex.
every conservative gets triggered like a sleeper agent hearing the code word to execute their mission, we should probably abandon it and just talk in simple practical terms people can understand.
Hard agree.

The most persuasive people I’ve seen don’t use that word often. They directly link peoples concerns to inequality (unfair taxation and employment laws), climate ( fossil fuel companies) and unregulated abusive businesses such as big tech.
This is the way. Lefty movements have rightly been criticized for being too academic. Expressing people’s concerns in a more relatable and practical way gets more people on board.

Not at all. Dude upthread isn’t arguing for the status quo, they’re pointing out that it isn’t just slavers that have that mindset. It’s worth reevaluating our own behaviour for inconsistencies.

It’s sad that you’re getting downvotes.
People want to fit into their society and enjoy the comforts available to their peers. As you say, that’s as true of slavers as it is of the rest of us who: drive (but care about our kids), eat animal products (but care about animal welfare), etc.
We need to realize that shit-ass societies that committed atrocities were full of people just like us. If we were in a similar situation, very few of us would have done better.

My downvote reasoning:
Do I think editorial cartoons have a place in discourse? Yes.
Do I feel that politicians expensing extravagant lifestyles are a worthy part of political discourse? Yes - Bev Oda May disagree.
Do I enjoy criticism of Carney? Yes.
However, AI fuckery displaces existing jobs, avoids royalties, and (in current form) builds dependence on scummy companies.
Hence the downvote.
