It is the comparison between the tech enthusiast with doors that open with a command and the tech user that has a gun next to their printer if it makes a weird sound.
I would wait until after the kid has finished elementary school and under supervision. My kid should want to play with his friends outside and sometimes with an online game, not stay in social media watching short-form content all day.

I have heard various teachers on social media speak out about the current education system in the USA.
It is dire out there with students using AI with text to speech and speech to text to avoid reading.

Thank you for the read, it is a very good story. It was funny for me that a programmer would reinvent the wheel from first concepts, even if that reinvention needed to create computation again.
I think it shows that overreliance on computers would make us abstract basic concepts until no one knows such things as basic arithmetic.

Thank you for the recommendation. I like the aesthetics of the future envisioned in the 20th century like some of Asimov books with their huge computers because he didn’t know that the future was in miniaturization of the computer. He believed that the path to increase computer power was a physical expansion of current technology.

Yes! It was very surprising that it was so spot on. I guess there were people there knowing that the future of war was remote. The radar wasn’t even invented by that date!

Really cool cyberpunk story of war. Next up is to fight for the oil in Iran with a car race, winner takes all.

Depends on the hardware, check its specifications and check if it can connect to the internet before you jailbreak it.
- Comment on There's always money in the banana sta... Flock cameras 2 weeks ago:
You could turn it into a Linux box to connect to a TV with those specs. It’s so sad I don’t live close to those things.

That’s true but I like taking memes seriously and getting into internet discussions about them.

The components inside are the same as a PS5, you just gotta rearrange them a little

Seems to be misinformation? A teardown of a flock camera does not show any distinguishable RAM. The rechargeable battery would be worth a lot though.

A test that is a joke with no setup and a dangling punchline. Of course, there is no way to argue for any of the options. For the company that makes the tests, there is only one correct answer.
The actual joke is that a private company is in charge of making tests for students.
And the correct answer is that the animals ate the pineapple because they wanted (as there is no justification for the fruit murder) and the wisest animal is the owl because they didn’t show up for this clusterfuck of a story.

Is it that expensive? The cost in wood can’t be higher than $1000. The counterweight can be using concrete and some steel for reinforcement if you want to get fancy, that would be most of the cost.
It will take a lot of time to build. You could contact a vlogger or something to make a video where you launch it and split the revenue if you want.

Yes, it seemed smaller in the map the meme showed. However it is around 6 min by car, I wouldn’t make someone drive that distance for my convenience.

Look, they can make experiments, the problem is that every single one they do proves the earth is round.
I love the experiment flat earthers used in a Netflix documentary. They put a light source and two panels with small holes at the same height in them to focus the light. If the earth is flat, a camera would capture the light if it is at the same height as the last hole:
Picture showing a flat earth with the holes and camera at the same height
And if the earth is round, the camera would need to be higher to capture the light
The diagram now shows the man at the end holding the camera over his head to capture the light
When they checked the experiment at the same height, there was no light. Thinking it was a problem with the setup, they raised the camera and the light appeared. Their comment was “Huh” or something similar.
As far as I know, there are no flat earth explanations for this result.

Of course but with a huge wavelength, their frequency is very small. Small frequency means small energy so the effect of visible light is shadowed by other subatomic processes
