There are gnocchi, gnocchetti (small gnocchi) that are pasta. What you know as gnocchi are properly called “gnocchi di patate” in italian, i.e. potato gnocchis

Pasta corta nowadays. Short pasta. Maccheroni is how they were called by my grand grand mother.

Go to north of Italy. They literally votes for uncultured swines for leading them (lega, forza Italia…). During the covid emergency the person in lead of public health thought that you need three people in a room to get covid… They have been led by the most ignorant people in Italy. Salvini, fontana, gallera, Formigoni, bossi, Berlusconi, Calderoli. Compared to these people, DeSantis is an intellectual

- Comment on How do you call someone born in the US besides "American"? 1 year ago:
Because in every language that is not English, America is the whole continent. What Americans call “America” is United States of America. We need a word for their citizens, that is not the name of the inhabitants of the whole continent
- Comment on How do you call someone born in the US besides "American"? 1 year ago:
In Italian “statunitensi”, i.e. United States people
- Comment on Now that the Middle East conflict is back. Was wondering why they call them settlements instead of towns? 1 year ago:
Because international laws recognize those settlements as violations of international laws press.un.org/en/2016/sc12657.doc.htm . To create those settlements most often, people previously living there were forced to move somewhere else, often by using army.
That’s the reason. Whatever is someone’s side on the conflicts, those settlements are simply widely recognized as illegal

I am well, thanks for asking.
Currently the tech I am a huge fan of is helping me a lot handling the daily business. It has been a godsend for my mental health. It is helping me in a lot of area I struggle with (paper work and meaningless corporate processes), it helps me better organizing my work, and it support me in areas where I used to heavily rely on Google and forums. It helps me to learn and improve. Overall I am a happy chatgpt customer.
Other than that, we don’t have AI yet, still layoffs are at record number. Layoffs and suffering are not caused by AI, or whatever fancy tech. They are caused by current economic system that cannot redistribute wealth. They’ve been there before AI, they’ll be there after AI.
If you believe that blocking AI will change anything… No it won’t. It won’t change anything.

It’s like saying that someone who built the steam engine actively killed people. The steam engine was a great thing. Politics must deal with social changes. Because we know that any technological advance can result in social instability if left in the hand of wrong people.

I work in ML and AI and I strongly believe that reduced hour, wfh and universal basic income are needed. All new technologies can help us living a better life, it doesn’t make sense using them to build a worst society

None as far as I know. If someone knows the answer I’d be interested as well.
Fifa used to be decent for extremely casual social gaming with friends in person.
Everything else has been horrible for years.
PES is dead. We don’t name whatever is out there now to replace it, no one should
- Comment on PlayStation 5- how sre the visuals so good and games run so well on a machine with the equivalent of a GTX 2060? 1 year ago:
An emulator has a performance overhead. Even a simple translation layer like valve’s proton has an overhead. The fact that most games are simply unoptimized and windows is so bloated means that the additional overhead of proton is not a performance bottleneck. But if one has a good hardware and a good dedicated OS, emulator is not really necessary, which is good for performances
- Comment on Isn't OneDrive/Sharepiont the exact OPPOSITE of a shared drive? 1 year ago:
I don’t care of the cost, people who push it do. They waste money in a million of way in consultant and tools and servers and concepts and stuff I have no idea. I am sure some mckinsey, KPMG, accenture, ibm consultant knows why everything useless is so expensive. I usually don’t care. 9/10 of the money spent by my company is wasted, but somehow they manages to do profit. Which is fine. We have been doing cost cutting for few years now, still the amount of money wasted is crazy
- Comment on Isn't OneDrive/Sharepiont the exact OPPOSITE of a shared drive? 1 year ago:
In my company they paid a lot of money for it, like too much. Simply very few people like it. Mainly paper work people.
Because they paid so much for it, they always try to convince people to use it… Currently we are using it as a glorified s3 bucket for PowerPoint presentations to link them on confluence… But there is always someone who tries again to push it, before it’s miserably fails again.
That’s my experience. I am sure someone find it very useful.
- Comment on Isn't OneDrive/Sharepiont the exact OPPOSITE of a shared drive? 1 year ago:
You don’t need to reimplement SharePoint, just to use different processes and tools.
That said, if you are happy, that’s absolutely fine. I luckily don’t use it. It’s there, someone try to put there some document because “we paid millions for it” (I don’t know if they really did…), after a few frustrating loop of the crappy check in/check out broken system most people give up. I don’t even need to complain. It’s sufficient to wait a couple of weeks and someone else will, no one will find any benefit, and at the end it will completely dropped. Until someone remember how much we paid for it, and will try again.
I call it “the cycle of corporate hype”
- Comment on Isn't OneDrive/Sharepiont the exact OPPOSITE of a shared drive? 1 year ago:
SharePoint concept and implementation is awful though. Better have different tools for the different tasks and track different types of artifacts and documents, than using SharePoint. And everything else in normal file system.
SharePoint is the typical mammoth that does everything and it does it extremely badly. But it’s Microsoft, so all companies must use it
- Comment on Isn't OneDrive/Sharepiont the exact OPPOSITE of a shared drive? 1 year ago:
And you don’t need SharePoint for that
