Visit some Garden Centres near you- often they’ll have seed mixes of local perennial flowers available for purchase, you just need to spread the seeds in the spring or autumn.
Also, “weeds” aren’t always weeds, they’re just plants that some people decided get in the way of monocultures. If it’s flowering, it’s feeding insects, so leave it be.
The fireflies are awesome in my area this summer and my humble yard is part of that. It’s honestly so satisfying watching plants come back year after year, bigger and bigger

More plastic is always good, right? Who doesn’t love plastic? Who wouldn’t love more plastic?
Sidenote: Answering the above two questions in any way will result in legal measures commencing via the Plastics Industry. Any references to Plastic being in any way “bad” are an existential threat to their business, and will be treated as such. You have free speech to discuss your love of the plastics industry, but any speech contrary to its goals of continual, forever-growing profit, will be met with aggression. When free speech runs contrary to profit, profits win.

Maybe if LLMs were “non-human intelligence” then Yes. But, No.
- Comment on Something something far-left 5 weeks ago:
It’s this, and it’s also more than this: there has to be a limitation put on profit, a place at which the corporation achieves balance and success- enough to not feel the need to continually chip away at wages and working conditions or increasing enshittification in search of immediate short-term profits.
If enough profit is never enough, it will forever remain a constant battle between corporations and workers, and corporations and the public.

I know the feeling, I have no idea how I made it through books 2 & 3. I recommend it to no one, but I do still recommend book 5 on its own

Bradley Cooper has held the rights for over a decade now. I always figured if you structure it a bit like Lost, that could work quite well narratively; each episode forwards the plot in the present while having a singular focus on one character in flashbacks

Steven Erikson’s “Malazan: Book of the Fallen” series is ten books long, and it’s an ambitious, chaotic mess that some readers utterly love. I didn’t really love reading them last year, and mostly slogged through it.
That being said however, book 5, “Midnight Tides” was utterly glorious, and I would have loved to have seen a good 2-season, maybe 20-26 episodes going through the whole arc. It’d be epic AF

You want happiness? Stop demanding the world cushion your fragile psyche.
I don’t understand the strange strawman that’s being set up and knocked down here. With its repeated usage of “you” and “your”, the author seems to be speaking to their audience; but then casting their audience into a dark light, a tangle of declarations that don’t apply to most people at all.
When you’re hypersensitive to criticism, it’s because you’ve conflated your fragile ego with your worth. You’ve mistaken your current position in the hierarchy for your eternal fate.
Like I said, a strawman. Who is this for? I guess those who are hypersensitive to criticism, who have specifically considered their eternal fate to be reflective of their current position “in the hierarchy”?
Stop catastrophizing. Your boss’s nitpicking, your partner’s sigh, the anonymous troll’s jab—these are not existential threats. They’re feedback. And feedback is the universe’s way of saying, “Hey, here’s a map to a better version of you… if you’re brave enough to read it.”
Yeah, that’s not how trolls work. Trolls troll for kicks, hoping to trigger people. Trolling does not present you with a “map to a better version of you”.
What a strange soliloquy

The Sheriff from Stranger Things. I think it was in season 3 when he was crawling around in spore-filled tunnels that had already killed people and he just got a mild headache. Not even going to mention the Russian prison in season 4.

Sadly, No. They cancelled (the legendary) F Boy Island after only two glorious seasons and cut back on reality content. I don’t think they have a plan, they’re just marketing people hoping to brand their way out of this mess

Same! You can’t just keep stacking mysteries and weirdness on top of each other without any pay-off or explanations. The world-building is overall lacking and what bits of knowledge that we have don’t add up to anything at all.
