- Comment on Resetting XBOX - Compulsion Games and Double Fine to go indie again, Ninja Theory and Undead Labs "to join new ownership" 16 hours ago:
Not much left to boycott. Just don’t subscribe to Gamepass and that cuts off their only actual revenue stream left lmao.
- Comment on Killing ownership is the method, killing the secondary market is the objective. 1 day ago:
That power up rewards card was more powerful than we all thought I guess.
- Comment on Data from the 2023 Insomniac leak showed that most first party Playstation games sold more physical discs than digital copies 2 days ago:
I may just have to part with it then. I’m guessing it’ll sell fast ahead of GTA6. It’s weird but it is probably my least favorite console I’ve ever owned. The only meaningful exclusive I’ve played was Astro Bot. As a huge platformer kid, that brought me back to my PS1 days.
- Comment on Data from the 2023 Insomniac leak showed that most first party Playstation games sold more physical discs than digital copies 2 days ago:
I’m likely going to sell my PS5. I don’t want to support Sony at all. Hoping to get what I paid for it now that hardware prices are through the roof. It’ll be sad to part with the Atomic Purple Dark Plates, but my PS5 collects dust.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 4 days ago:
It really is an end of an era. I won’t buy an all digital console. I already have a PC for that and it plays everything better in 4k. Nintendo is truly the last console maker with great first party, physical media, and console gimmicks that interest me.
- Comment on 12 years later, The Binding of Isaac Rebirth hits new steam peak player count 5 days ago:
This is the reason I returned it a couple years ago. Hard pass on the humor. Was worse when I saw how old the guy who made it was. Just felt cringe.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 2's co-lead designer was asked to make Baldur's Gate 4 after Larian declined: 'Having to compete against Baldur's Gate 3? That would be insanity' 1 week ago:
This is hilarious. I doubt Microsoft buys anymore IP at this point. Seems like they are failing hard but who knows they make the craziest decisions.
Either way it’ll end in layoffs.
- Comment on #StopPayingGames 1 week ago:
I don’t worry about kobo, but I can’t find everything on there. Since Dungeon Crawler Carl is only on Amazon it seems like he has a publishing deal with them or something. It just sucks I can’t actually buy to own those books without getting physical copies.
- Comment on #StopPayingGames 1 week ago:
It really sucks but I think this is the case. I can’t even read an ebook half the time with proper ownership. It’s either Amazon exclusive and then I don’t own it, or it happens to go on kobo/humble bundle DRM free. Every now and again the author sells things direct DRM free and I’ll buy from them.
I’m not giving Amazon a penny for their ebook scam library where they can change anything on a whim. It’s some serious 1984 shit, they can change the contents of the ebook whenever they want.
- Comment on GTA 6 Price Finally Confirmed, Features a 'Single-Player Experience' at Launch 1 week ago:
This is exactly the case. The made the $80 version the budget edition. One where you get an incomplete package for not paying the $100 that the game actually costs.
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 1 week ago:
I just can’t see a reason to spend that much on a second PC. My GPU was almost the price of the Steam machine though so it isn’t a terrible value proposition in this current landscape. I just don’t need another machine.
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 2 weeks ago:
It was definitely going to replace my Xbox Series X as my TV box. M$ has shit the bed for the last time and I’m not interested in giving that ecosystem any more of my money.
If the Steam machine really is crazy expensive I’ll likely hold onto my X for years to come and eventually switch to an Apple TV or something.
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 2 weeks ago:
That is what I’ve been holding out for, but what the heck is that bundle going to cost? Seems like the price will be not worth it if you already have PC and consoles.
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 2 weeks ago:
They don’t call it HARDware for nothin!
- Comment on Valve’s Steam Controller stock shortage will last until next year after fans massively exceeded expectations 2 weeks ago:
I had it on my wish list but decided to wait for the steam machine and see what the total out the door price for the console and controller would be. Unfortunately now the console is nowhere to be found and the controllers are back ordered until next year.
I was gifted an Xbox Elite 2 controller years ago and have already had to take it apart to lube up the bumper buttons. It’s a fine controller but they fail at an insanely high rate for the price. Bummer that the Steam Controller couldn’t get out the door on time.
- Comment on GOG Summer Sale is here! 2 weeks ago:
Not that I saw. I won’t buy from them at this point. Anyone who purposefully posts the SS doesn’t get my money.
- Comment on 3 weeks ago:
That series in general seems like a great fit for Nintendo. Contrary to the Xbox approach of buying up anything to see what sticks.
Turns out the shotgun approach is expensive and also yields minimal results. Shocker.
- Comment on Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off. 3 weeks ago:
Sad I’ll never get a psychonauts 3 but can’t say I’m surprised. They cleared don’t make enough money to continue to be San Francisco paid devs. They have a large catalog that move people have never heard of or played.

I use Narwhal 2 for now. $5 a month is a small price to pay for the largest aggregation of information outside of Wikipedia.
Once they force the proprietary app on me I’ll likely be out. It’s a bloated cartoonish app.
I like Lemmy a lot but like people are saying it needs more users. I try and post my own content to practice what I preach.
- Comment on Has anyone else noticed the strong pro CCP and anti-west vibes here? 4 weeks ago:
I have noticed this around Lemmy and see some of these comments. As a left leaning redditor it is a similar turn off as the Digg beta.
- Comment on Control Resonant - Story/Release Date Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure. I don’t use epic games store but they have published games I’ve liked over the years. Happy to have AW2 and I just play it on PS5 and Series X. Not that huge of a deal but it did hurt its PC audience. Control seems pretty popular on Steam so I’m sure they can see the difference in sales numbers.
- Comment on Control Resonant - Story/Release Date Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
Yeah I’m pissed about it but Alan Wake Remastered and AW2 probably won’t ever come to Steam since it was published and at least partially funded by Epic.
- Comment on Control Resonant - Story/Release Date Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
It’s incredibly good. I would say it’s only niche on PC because of the epic exclusivity. If you like RE games, twin peaks, the first season of True Detective, Se7en, etc. you’ll love this game.
I have bought it a couple times for different platforms just because I love it so much.
- Comment on Control Resonant - Story/Release Date Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
AW2 is in my top 5 games of all time. It’s just incredible. So happy to see other people out there enjoying it as much as I am.
- Comment on Fable is delayed to Feb 2027 | via Wario64 5 weeks ago:
We knew this was going to happen. There was no way they released Fable (8 years in dev) to die in the same season as GTA6. As soon as GTA6 got delayed I knew this fable wouldn’t come out this year.
- Comment on 5 weeks ago:
That’s awful. I wish valve would limit it to one per account and just be done with it.
- Comment on 5 weeks ago:
I’m not a scalper so idk what is normal, but I wouldn’t think it would be smart to buy something $300 over face value in an attempt to resell it for more? Especially hardware that is already long in the tooth internally. Aaaand from Valve who typically has consistently restocked these over time.
Idk though maybe there is a market for $1300 SD OLED resellers 🤷♂️

True! I own both and I remember people losing their minds over the switch 1 price increase.
- Comment on Valve raises Steam Deck prices by more than $200 5 weeks ago:
It’s almost by design. Take personal computing away from the masses. Control what can be done and learned on a cloud device. More control over the masses with the benefit of a cloud computer subscription.
- Comment on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past Announced - CD PROJEKT 5 weeks ago:
I also have never played it and this might convince me to go back and check it out. I picked it up on Steam years ago for like five bucks.
