Comment on Is the 3DS worth purchasing despite it being "obsolete" today?
mursejoy@lemmy.zip 3 days agoI thought about getting a backup new 3dsxl to compliment my current one because it’s fantastic. I think I would much rather have a Retroid Pocket Duo with that slick OLED screen.
Love my 3DS but when it dies I’ll probably go to a replica machine. OG hardware is dated.

Yeah we’re at a point far enough past the 3DS’s heyday that replicas are generally better quality and cheaper now
I still wonder how the replica machines handle 3DS homebrew, though I suppose a lot of it probably doesn’t matter since it’s enabling or expanding on 3DS functionality that the replica machines would already have built in
