- Comment on Capcom says shifting from auteur-driven development to team-led development is what transformed the company and allowed flagship IPs to survive for so long - AUTOMATON WEST 1 week ago:
That’s a weird take, videogames are rarely pure art, they require to be designed-by-committee, unles the artist can do everything. Significant part of work is purely mechanical and requires as little as possible artistry or people would hate it. Most people play games because they are engaging and fun not because of some artistic vision.
- Comment on What is a game you can’t understand why its so popular ? 4 weeks ago:
I don’t think that RTS+hero started with warcraft, there were hero units in warlords series (better implemented I think) before warcraft.
- Comment on Should I pretend to care about the lives in Gaza and Palestine? 5 weeks ago:
There is a big difference between “i don’t care” and “fuck them”. I mean I don’t really have mental energy and passion to really care for their conflict (for many reasons) but my opinion is close to: it’s horrible and isr*el is fucked up hellhole, not “fuck the palestinians”. You shouldn’t act like you care unless you care but you can at least filter it a bit or don’t participate in conversations that involve that conflict.

They are essentially the same, both are kinds of physical injury.

I didn’t, actually compared similar things both times.

So we shouldn’t compare some but should compare other types of suffering?

If someone has their leg broken with bone sticking out and another person who fell and now has a broken skin on their hands I should assume they feel more or less the same and shouldn’t compare?

I can assire you that there is a lot morr psychological and physical strain in monotonous physical work. A month in a factory made me appreciate my desk job in IT like nothing else in the world. Obviously burn out exists and destroys your motivation and ability to do things.

They can stop working in entertainment, it’s not like streamers are bound to a chair with a rope.

But they are turtles, like every crow is a bird.

Experience matters a lot in practice, but having a degree gives you opportunity to learn fundamentals and to have a broader knowledge base in general. Met a few people without formal education with insane knowledge and skills but absolutely helpless outside of their area of expertise.

Well yeah, no question there, but by itself it kind of doesn’t count?
