Yeah, I went to school for it. Never broke in. Ended up with a much better and wayyyy more stable job.
Couldn’t imagine trying to get in now that every studio is owned by like ~3 companies.

- Comment on Are inmates apart of the jobs report that comes out? Like the ones who fight wildfires, or clean up roads or on a work release program? What about the unemployment numbers? 2 weeks ago:
One of the statistics relies on who is applying for Unemployment Insurance payments.
Which run out if you’re on them for 6 months in a year. So that stat starts to get really unreliable after July, and gets worse as it approaches December.

Obama brought in free healthcare
Well that didn’t happen. He brought us a Republican healthcare plan that cemented private insurance into our system and fined people who didn’t have any. The public option got dropped because of captured senators refusing to vote on the bill unless it was removed.

So much consolidation in the last decade means that the majority of the by AAA game devs are owned by like 2-3 companies at this point. It’s horrendous.
Like Activision used to be the nicest publisher. Then it merged with Blizzard and Vivendi (who owned Bethesda), and then Microsoft just straight up bought them, and King (candy crush dev). And now MS wants almost nothing to do with games after doing fuck all with those acquisitions except laying people off and closing some of the studios.
- Comment on Just to get this straight Odysseus angered the gods by just trying to survive the only way he could at the time? 4 weeks ago:
In the poem, a trojan starts to point out how the horse is obviously a trap, but Poseidon sends one of his sea serpents to eat the guy mid sentence.
The rest of the Trojans, witnessing this, decide to bring in the horse anyway.
Odysseus later doesn’t thank Poseidon for saving his plan and proceeds to brag about his genius, and insults the gods some more.

That’s just a terrible business model. Artificially limiting the advertisement of your product.
Not that it won’t be lakes elsewhere within 20 minutes of going live.
I still don’t get why people care about a new gra. It’ll play exactly the same as the last 3.

- Comment on WWE wants to trademark the term 'Vice City'. 5 weeks ago:
On September 12, 1989, the Federation sent a letter to the Fund addressing its federal trademark application for the “WWF” mark in International Class 41 (for wrestling entertainment services). The International Class 41 also includes education, which the Fund were registered in. This marked the beginning of formal discussions between the two parties regarding the use of the “WWF” initials.
They reached an agreement, but once wrestling started putting stiff on the Internet, that effectively broke that agreement.

Getting paid twice for one transaction isn’t how it works.
The buyers paid the extra tax to Nintendo to cover Nintendo’s extra cost. Then Nintendo gets a rebate on the tax. So they just got that extra tax money for no fucking reason.
