These LLM datacenters aren’t your average datacenters. They’re not racks of mostly hard drives and cpus, they’re energy hog supercharged gpus that just vomit heat.
My single gpu PC can raise the temp of my office by like 10°. And it’s not even that impressive of a spec. The standard industrial sized cooling hasn’t cut it for these installations

Because the 3 or so patent suits they filled against them weren’t the perfect time… Even after ex post facto filing for these patents and this somehow being allowed under Japanese patent law

Except this one isn’t. AC units make a lot of noise. AC units for a server game the size of a mall, make a fuck ton
A slowly spinning turbine, not so much.

On top of using inefficient and dirty power sources, they also suck up all the local water, produce heat domes (pollution) and noise pollution at registers that causes psychological issues.
Getting 10% off a subscription to a shitty LLM that doesn’t can’t do anything properly, doesn’t offset that.

Sometimes, people leave a company and move to another one, only for that first company to buy the company they moved to…
Knew someone this happened to.

Did they have the manpower or industrial uses to even harvest forests non-sustainably?

Yeah Bungie management has been atrocious since at least the first Halo. Possibly from their beginning. It’s honestly a miracle they’ve managed to release so many decently sized hits despite being mismanaged to hell and back for each and every single one.

Somehow GameStop stock is up 6% for the week, despite this announcement basically dropping the floor out from under their entire business model.

Was it the roommate that was a hot mess, or the PlayStation?

It’ll be free to join forces and create the translations for some of those.
It’ll take away dev time they could be working on other things. Those devs get paid for their time. That is not free. In fact, depending on the type of developer, it may actually be cheaper to get someone else to do it, as software devs tend to be on the higher end of the earning scale for office drone type jobs.

They’re waiting until January to boot the dementia patient. Otherwise he’d be ineligible for a real second term. Not that the charisma vacuum could get to that point.

Hell, they were a mess during the original Halo days. It’s a miracle they made such successful games. They basically rebuilt 2 from scratch after it’s announcement trailer. It’s been mismanagement misstep after misstep.

Why give this scam any publicity? It’s been done before.
- Comment on Was Alex Jones right about anything? 2 weeks ago:
Parents might not be helping. Doesn’t mean they aren’t teaching it. Schools are experiencing a surge in apathetic students since covid and LLMs became widespread. Also teachers will complain about the standouts, doesn’t mean it’s every student.
You even said it yourself:

If the clocks are still in schools, and their schedules are based on time, the kids are going to figure out how to read them.
Maybe think before you call others dumb…
- Comment on Why is Amazon Prime overpriced in the Anglosphere demographic? 2 weeks ago:
You’re not paying for just the video service (at least in the US), prime is primarily their free 2-day shipping plan. The streaming was always just kind of an extra that was included with that

make much of a difference in their personal wealth
There’d be no use in mentioning it if it was a tiny amount. One doesn’t bemoan the state of the economy and eye transitioning their funds into gold if they’re talking about a single oz…

Why does this person have enough money in a saving account that buying gold with it instead would make much of a difference in their personal wealth?
They’re losing far more to inflation than they are risking being stolen by some ai chatbot.

Seeing signs and being able to read the important part (which is located at the bottom of this sign, so the last thing that gets read)are two different things.

Relying on your intended audience to reattempt an intersection to read your sign is not a great business plan.

- Comment on What's the evolutionary advantage of very long hair on human heads? 3 weeks ago:
I dunno. I’m just having trouble conceptualizing any kind of scenario that could happen with enough frequency to cause this trait to be selected for.
I think it’s more likely that the chemicals in hair just happen to smell bad when burnt. Those chemicals may have been filtered for other reasons.

How often were people catching on fire and not noticing that this would cause any kind of selection criteria?
