- Comment on Saber CEO scorns writer who says she was fired in favor of AI with confusing, combative statement 1 week ago:
So much consolidation in the last decade means that the majority of the by AAA game devs are owned by like 2-3 companies at this point. It’s horrendous.
Like Activision used to be the nicest publisher. Then it merged with Blizzard and Vivendi (who owned Bethesda), and then Microsoft just straight up bought them, and King (candy crush dev). And now MS wants almost nothing to do with games after doing fuck all with those acquisitions except laying people off and closing some of the studios.
- Comment on Just to get this straight Odysseus angered the gods by just trying to survive the only way he could at the time? 1 week ago:
In the poem, a trojan starts to point out how the horse is obviously a trap, but Poseidon sends one of his sea serpents to eat the guy mid sentence.
The rest of the Trojans, witnessing this, decide to bring in the horse anyway.
Odysseus later doesn’t thank Poseidon for saving his plan and proceeds to brag about his genius, and insults the gods some more.

Companies have been trying to cheap out in manufacturing costd since manufacturing was invented.
Don’t blame the consumer when the candy bar cartel shrinks their shit then lies about it.

That’s just a terrible business model. Artificially limiting the advertisement of your product.
Not that it won’t be lakes elsewhere within 20 minutes of going live.
I still don’t get why people care about a new gra. It’ll play exactly the same as the last 3.

Especially with how things went the last time a tech company was at odds with a British company over a name. Apple Records
- Comment on WWE wants to trademark the term 'Vice City'. 2 weeks ago:
On September 12, 1989, the Federation sent a letter to the Fund addressing its federal trademark application for the “WWF” mark in International Class 41 (for wrestling entertainment services). The International Class 41 also includes education, which the Fund were registered in. This marked the beginning of formal discussions between the two parties regarding the use of the “WWF” initials.
They reached an agreement, but once wrestling started putting stiff on the Internet, that effectively broke that agreement.

- Comment on Nintendo Responds To Tariff Refunds Lawsuit, Tells Customers They "Got What They Bargained For" 4 weeks ago:
Getting paid twice for one transaction isn’t how it works.
The buyers paid the extra tax to Nintendo to cover Nintendo’s extra cost. Then Nintendo gets a rebate on the tax. So they just got that extra tax money for no fucking reason.

Yeah, gambling is addictive.

Their cartel like price fixing policies raise prices across all sales platforms, regardless if they deal with steam codes or not.
Also the child gambling.

So did Nintendo.

Their worldview is heavily built around Christian magic nonsense: The sky is a dome (firmament). Gravity doesn’t exists, it’s just buoyancy. They probably assume wind currents change and blow the cold off the icewall surrounding the world edge…

Getting a new CEO doesn’t undo the decade of horrible development practices unity employed. The engine is swamped in technical debt, half finished and abandoned features, I’m not even sure if they have an actual native working multiplayer system yet, after multiple restarts from scratch…
- Comment on What is the big deal with data centers or whatever? How can they give off pollution? I get it may cause a spike electricity but shouldn't the company give residents a discount for having theirs? 1 month ago:
These LLM datacenters aren’t your average datacenters. They’re not racks of mostly hard drives and cpus, they’re energy hog supercharged gpus that just vomit heat.
My single gpu PC can raise the temp of my office by like 10°. And it’s not even that impressive of a spec. The standard industrial sized cooling hasn’t cut it for these installations

Because the 3 or so patent suits they filled against them weren’t the perfect time… Even after ex post facto filing for these patents and this somehow being allowed under Japanese patent law

Except this one isn’t. AC units make a lot of noise. AC units for a server game the size of a mall, make a fuck ton
A slowly spinning turbine, not so much.

On top of using inefficient and dirty power sources, they also suck up all the local water, produce heat domes (pollution) and noise pollution at registers that causes psychological issues.
Getting 10% off a subscription to a shitty LLM that doesn’t can’t do anything properly, doesn’t offset that.

Yeah Bungie management has been atrocious since at least the first Halo. Possibly from their beginning. It’s honestly a miracle they’ve managed to release so many decently sized hits despite being mismanaged to hell and back for each and every single one.
