I played the first game way, way back. At the very least, I remember completing it, and liking it. So fast forward several years, the game goes on sale plenty, and I’ve forgotten nearly all of it, but remembered I liked it. So why not play it again right. Picked it up for cheap, and just could jot get into it. I tried a couple times even, but I just can’t for some reason.

- Comment on When "AI" content becomes indistinguishable from human-made content, is there, philosophically speaking, any meaningful differences between the two? 5 days ago:
AI music really caught me off guard. One day I was looking for something very specific to vibe to. I wanted instrumental power metal, like Dragonforce but no vocals. And I found that in Metal Mastery, a YouTube channel. I liked it so much it I looked into it more, turns out it’s AI and the guy is very upfront about it and all. But I would have never known if I wasn’t told. There’s also nothing that really fills that niche either, so I still listen to the albums now and then.

At 3 billion people, I imagine paper companies would be jumping for joy.
But yeah, that sounds like it’d be a bastard to surveil.

Back when Overwatch was fresh, had a couple randoms I wound up buddying and partnering up with pretty often for a few weeks. But one of them was a really annoying person on mic, who was just very clingy with the other guy. Then other guy wanted to drop clingy guy. Clingy guy freaked. They didn’t split but I eventually just stopped playing. Don’t know how their friendship ultimately turned out.

You’re not wrong, gerrymandering sucks. But the right wields it unfairly and gets away with it. So we need to do it back. Only when we have enough collective power to dismantle the entirety of gerrymandering at the federal level for good can it be truly done away with. Until we get to that point, we have to play hardball back, or the right will just continue to get their way.
- Comment on California Approves New House Maps in a Major Win for Democrats and Newsom 2 weeks ago:
Cool. The democratic left needs to stop being a bunch of fucking pushovers. If the right is going to play hardball, than play hardball back and fucking win, and fuck the moralists who whine like babies about “BuT tHeN wE’rE nO bEtTeR ThAn ThEM.” Like, bitch, we can worry about that shit after we take care of ousting the pack of right-wing cheating fuckwits with zero regard for the law and rules. Then once shit is back and stable, we can worry about your pansy ass empty do-gooder tolerance that allowed the extreme right a voice in the first place.

I can’t help but think of how the original Deus Ex existed in a world where crackpot conspiracy theories like this were just the reality. And this sounds like it would make a great setting itself as some agent works their way through a conspiracy, going on a small world tour of levels in various major powers of the world before finally ending in a boss battle in some hidden hi-tech but occultish basement of the Vatican where we find the Anti-Christ is preparing to unleash whatever high-tech equivalent is for the Mark of the Beast, and it’s our final big job to take him down to stall his coming to power for the next millenia or some nonsense.
Sorry if you take your theories seriously, I just can’t. But I’d bet they’d make a cool story.

Yep, sorry, that was my bad and a holdover from having that actual scenario play out and being annoyed with it. Then I second guessed myself, checked your post history, which showed your most likely legit, then deleted my comment. So nevermind, I was in the wrong.
- Comment on What exactly is the reasoning behind Satan ruling Hell? 2 weeks ago:
The weeping and gnashing of teeth isn’t even explicitly hell.
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
It’s just a general separation from God. Which you could call a Hell, but it’s not explicitly stated as a product of that realm which is Hell.

The fuck. I’ve never heard of this. Haven’t heard anything that interesting in pokemon since years ago back when I was using smogon university to dig into the meta and play on some online simulator where everyone just locked their pokemon at lv50 and could choose all their IV/EV distribution, natures, and move loadouts for the ultimate meta experiance.

After playing the story through a few times, it’s hard to actually stay invested in it anymore, I also did all side quests one run two, and I’m not keen on repeating that. However, 2077 is the only game where I will start it up just to drive around and listen to some music, whether in game or something I pick myself, and then just turn it off. Usuallt for 30-45 minutes. And I played many of the GTAs and all but the first Saints Rows. But only 2077 will I drive around just for the hell of it.

Yes, I go back and replay the game every few years. Its grittiness is definitely a bit silly to me now, but when I was a kid, I was enchanted by it. While the Jensen games did not have the charm of the OG, the first was still decent, and it’s a shame Square Enix drove it into the ground with the second Jensen title.

- Comment on There's always that one person. 2 weeks ago:
I would absolutely love to roll a character based around sonic/thunder damage. In concept, the idea of thunderous smite is wonderful. But the reality of not being able to stealth is just harsh.
With a mighty crack of thunder you slam your warhammer into your foes chest, crushing their armor and their eardrums as you send them flying back. When they hit the ground, they uncontrollably tumble and roll before grinding to a halt, knocked prone on the floor about ten feet away.
But then everyone within 300 feet hears the violent rumble of your hammer and rushes to investigate the sound. Suddenly, the whole dungeon is on your ass.
Or Thunderclap! Surrounded by a pack of kobolds, the devious blighters working together to enclose and ambush you with their deadly pack tactics! In response, you slam your hands together, magically enhancing your clap with a thunderous roar that rips through the small band of lizards on every side of you. Two of the three scream as the sound pierces their ear drums, but one is cut short as his skull simply can’t handle the force. His eardrums explode, and he crumples to the ground, blood draining out of his ears, dead. The other screamer recovers, wounded, blood draininf from his right ear but still standing. The third remains resilient, obviously disturbed by the aural impact but otherwise unharmed.
The sound travels 100 feet through the kobold den. While you can’t see them, you know you’ve just rang the alarm for the enemy within their own den, and they will be coming, in numbers.

- Comment on If someone evil want to murder a lot of people, couldn't they just add prions to meat and slowly infect everyone with Prion Diseases? 3 weeks ago:
Want to be evil but too lazy to get out there? Too afraid you might get caught? What if I told you that you could participate in a group effort to kill people? And all you have to do is sit back, enjoy yourself, and burn that energy! Between 2000–2019 studies show approximately 489,000 heat-related deaths occur each year! That’s right! All you need to do to contribute to the death of humans is pump up that global warming! So blast that heater in the winter, your AC in the summer, and eat as much meat as you like! Sure, it might be a bit pricy, but that’s what work is for! And don’t forget the workplace can encourage death too! You can rest easy knowing those old, usless fogeys and those noisy babies will be the first to go with the ensuing heatwaves! If you come into a large chunk of money, consider opening a gas station! There, you can peddle ciggarettes and nicotine, alcohol depending on your state, and don’t forget those sweet, sweet, (corn syrupy sweet!) fountain sodas that contribute towards the obesity epidemic! Plus you get to fuel cars that pump more carbon into the air and support the oil industries that pollute the environment! Remember, there’s always plenty of legal ways to contribute to human deaths! So relax and do your part, and remember, humanity likely won’t kill all life, as it’s rather tenacious. But we can certainly make this planet inhospitable enough that the humans’ll all die off! And that’s the goal!
- Comment on Oblivion remake is... really making it apparent how outdated Bethesda is in its approach to making games 3 weeks ago:
Played Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim as they came out. Love the series. But it also felt like Skyrim lost something (not that it stopped me from sinking a stupid amount of hours into the game or playing it about twice a year.) And you know, my expectations for the next TES aren’t super high. But the thing is, it’s not what Bethesda is going to do with it that really gets me excited. It’s the hope that modding will continue to be heavily supported and what the community will do with the game. I have far more faith in modders than I do in Bethesda. The new TES not being packaged with modding support, to me, that would be the deathknell of TES.
