Well they could release the server software before shutting down the service, they wouldn't lose anything.
- Comment on Pokémon Winds and Waves announced, releasing 2027 5 days ago:
Oh, yes. And the shark has a N64 number of polygons, and they tried to copyright the term "jumping the shark". But it's okay, because there's a horde of dumb people that will buy it anyway.

- Comment on The developers of PEAK, explaining how they decided on pricing for their game. 3 weeks ago:
Oh get out. Would you prefer "hey this game costs $60 cause it's an AAA, and anyway now 70 will become the standard cause we know that some sucker will still buy em"?
At least PEAK it's a fun little game with a decent price. - Comment on Unity launches Walmart SDK to "seamlessly integrate products" into games 5 weeks ago:

I have the "Completionist" achievement for Half-Life2 cause it was a fun challenge to get them all (yes even the gnome one), but gave up on Osmos: fun and relaxing game, but the last levels were too much hassle.

Diablo spoiler?

This makes me think that the guy ran through the game instead of playing it. Just because what happened isn't spoonfed it doesn't mean it's not there.
Reminds me of all the haters of Dear Esther. - Comment on A Man Bought Meta's AI Glasses, and Ended Up Wandering the Desert in Search of Aliens 1 month ago:
Presenting them as the sentient computers seen in movies helps sales, and false or hyperbolic claims have been part of advertisement for decades.

That's true, but as we have seen several times a huge world isn't enough, you also have to put something interesting in it. Anyway I don't want to seem a Negative Nancy, it's incredible that this engine can create such a huge world without requiring hundreds of GBs.

Using a format that's unplayable by current turntables is dumb and doomed to fail.
Unless they're planning to sell an exclusive player for their format, which is dumb and doomed to fail.
