- Comment on Minimum wage rises to £12.71 an hour as firms warn of impact 1 month ago:
They do this every time it raises and the great collapse they talk of never seems to come so I’m fairly confident it won’t hapoen this time.
- Comment on Owlcat is using generative AI for The Expanse Osiris Reborn, but the final game will be "100% human made" 2 months ago:
My question is if everything is going to be human made in the end why bother using at all? You won’t even get any of the much vaunted time savings at that point.

If you’re feeling a little technical yamtrack is a pretty nice self hosted replacement.

- Comment on Fr Fr 2 months ago:
Given something like 40% of the world relies on crops grown with things like combine harvesters and fertilisers his rhetoric is straight up genocidal as getting rid of those would lead to the death of billions.
Plus for all it’s horrors the pharmaceutical industry provides some pretty neat things that help people not die.
The issue ultimately doesnt really lie with industry as a concept/ technology but how we’ve implemented it. Getting rid of it would make things worse for everyone.

It means prices are going up slower so it’s good. Though note this is an average so the price raises apply unevenly.

Honestly mind boggling that 125 thousand cows are slaughtered each month just to support maccas. Once you add various other places selling beef burgers and other beef cuts and I imagine the number can get even bigger.

Having both volunteered and done drugs the high/ enjoyment you get from them are very different. Plus there’s also things like situational context. No one is passing round deprived kids who need their school dinners paying for at their parties but they do often have cocaine. Finally if you’re looking for a good time and some quick, easy fun drugs are just way more accessible than the noble alternatives.

They’ve managed to install it on a bunch of trains in the Barcelona metro and it’s helped dropped the temperatures by around 1.5c.
I know Tfl has also put it on a couple of trains over the years but yeah we’re still lacking a broader rollout.
