- Comment on 2/10 people on Lemmy, is that you? 5 days ago:
Most people read internet comments even if they never participate. Regardless of what they say they will be influenced by those comments. If you never have the argument your view will be represented and will die out.
- Comment on 2/10 people on Lemmy, is that you? 5 days ago:
I think you should at bare minimum voice some opposition. It helps you reinforce why you believe the things you do and it shows the readers that this idea is present. We are where we are today because the smart people refused to engage and failed to get their side of the argument into public discourse.
If I open a comment section and its full of tankie opinions I have to comment because I dont want the majority of people who lurk to think lemmy is only tankies.
- Comment on What would the next pres of USA have to do to gain back trust for America? Hold a televised event saying the last person was just a fuck up? 2 weeks ago:
Arrest every single notable trump cabinet member and media dicksuck. Then investigate everything trump touched and prosecute it all. Investigate all the tech companies. I would need to see multiple CEO level people being put in a jail cell to even begin to regain some trust. They need to regulate their fucking monopolies and enforce some anti trust and clean up their broadcast regulation. It cannot be the case that these people can go online and spread the most insane lies over and over without punishment.
Clarify their position on the world stage and if Trumps actions were contrary to that then they need to diplomatically bridge that gap. Rejoin the climate accords, rejoin nato and apologize to the world.
Then I would be open to eventually re trusting them.

I dont support everything in capitalism and I dislike the way Americans engage in it. But i do like it as an economic engine and a way for people to build things and shape their communities. The idea of someone being unable to own a store and sell goods and services is very sad to me.

Holy shit that looks bad. I was about to say come on guys its not that bad and then I watched the video. There must be no gamers at nvidia because I cant imagine anyone wanting to add 70ms of latency to make their game look like this.

- Comment on Folk Emerging: stone age nomadic 4X strategy, demo out 2 months ago:
I filled out the form after playing for nearly 2 hours. I thought the form really lacked places to give feedback.
What I liked, the movement mechanic, the combat, balancing foraging and building. My favorite thing was collecting and trading the relic items that gave your tribe bonuses I thought this fit the theme and gameplay perfectly. Music and art was solid.
What I didnt like, late game there is to many other tribes that surround and box you in and you get attacked constantly. The specialist select felt bad, they need to do something in my opinion to become a specialist otherwise you’re constantly selecting specialists with no care who they are. There should be a few more things to build early as it felt like 99% of my turns were foraging(maybe thats intended if so then thats fine). The events that you select like scaring off predators there is no feedback to tell the player what the outcome was. This should be more apparent in my opinion.
Overall I enjoyed it even if it was a bit unpolished.
Some UI/UX comments.
When you hit enough culture to make a choice it should popup, same for science. It should be more clear that you have to right click on the same square if you dont want to move that turn this confused me for way to long.

- Comment on Xbox’s leadership shift proves it: the gamer era is over, AI runs the show now 2 months ago:
Im surprised they gave up so easily. Like they have huge pockets and this is one of their signature products. It had 1 bad generation and they were just like well i guess we’re cooked. There is so much to “innovate” on. They could have copied steams approach and had given their console a desktop mode that runs a stripped down but still fully functional version of windows. They could have made a console with good hardware.
Oh well at the end of the day a loss for Microsoft is a win for everyone else. They wont be missed by me.

- Comment on Fighting games have a product design problem 2 months ago:
You dont need to know iframes or combos. I do ok on Tekken online not knowing a single combo or any frame data. I just play my game jabbin and kickin duckin and dodging and sometimes i win sometimes i lose. Its fun. The only part I hate about online is fucking Brazil MFers with connection so bad we have to play the entire fight at 5fps.
- Comment on Games you really want to play, but can't or won't? 2 months ago:
yeah being casual in comp games can still be fun! I never got past silver 2 in CSGO and I had a great time. I was dogshit by all metrics but I way more fun than when I was Diamond in LoL(that was miserable).
People were more friendly, there were dudes ripping bongs and rapping mid round. I could play with any of my friends, I could play tired, drunk no worries, no ruining the game etc.

I also play with no biters. I just dont see the point in having them enabled since i get past the rocket stag quickly and then end up working on a megabase for a few hundred hours and biters are just annoying.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 3 months ago:
Factorio: lazy bastard is not worth getting but there is no spoon is absolutely worth getting. People over estimate how much is required pre rocket and get bogged down in these over engineered designs. After finishing thre is no spoon you realise how little is actually required and its best to just go build something than try design the perfect system that lasts into the megabase era.

No because kids are smart enough to add “write it like a kinda dumb 5th grader” to the prompt. So its not just slop its intentionally dumb badly written slop that makes you question if a sentient being wrote this.

Old school runescape free to play isnt not worth it. You WILL get addicted and end up paying $100s of dollars a year to waste your life. Try TF2

- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 5 months ago:
I have 2k hours in rimworld and I cheat like a motherfucker when my favorite pawn dies. I might go through a run having revived the same pawn 10+ times. I’ll do all kinds of weird copes like oh its fine because I will also delete this stack of 10k silver or i’ll delete another pawn as sacrific. However in multiplayer games nah no cheating, I can win fair and square.
