- Comment on Interview: Mary Wiseman On Tilly Settling In As A ‘Starfleet Academy’ Teacher And Dealing With Toxic Fans 1 day ago:
the people jumping to conclusions about who I am as a person and as a fan from the one comment.
Like jumping to conclusions about a show you haven’t watched based on one headline?
- Comment on Interview: Mary Wiseman On Tilly Settling In As A ‘Starfleet Academy’ Teacher And Dealing With Toxic Fans 1 day ago:
Well it’s a different show with different writers and she isn’t playing the timid and anxious character she was in early Discovery.
- Comment on Star Trek Removed From Amazon Prime [TNG & Voyager Refunded] 5 days ago:
It’s not that it’s digital media to blame, it just isn’t something you can replicate very easily with physical media.
- Comment on Just Watched the First Episode of Voyager and I Get the Hype, Regarding Janeway, Now 5 days ago:
We’re about as far away from the 1995 debut of Voyager as it was from the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974.
You’re missing a decade there. Voyager debut to today is about the same length of time as Kirk and Uhura having the first interracial kiss on television in the 1960s to Voyager’s debut in the '90s.

Im so glad they brought her into SFA. We definitely didnt see enough of her in DSC.
- Comment on A Utah city is removing raised traffic-calming measures on a busy road after backlash from residents 6 days ago:
These “mountable islands” might be good in theory but it looks like the city did absolutely nothing to make them easily visible. I’ve seen similar things around my own city and its almost as if the traffic engineers want to cause vehicle damage and dangerous maneuvers as you often can’t see these obstacles until you’re about to crash into them.
- Comment on How come in movies tv shows books etc at court they make it seem like swearing on the bible prevents you from lieing? If my family or I was in danger I would lie my ass off to get out of it.. 1 week ago:
Yes I’ve experienced cops lying in court numerous times along with prosecutors just blatantly making things up. Perjury may be a crime but its rarely enforced especially not against agents of the state.
- Comment on New York Politician Joann Ariola mocked her own constituents as they marched in single-digit temperatures to protest the decision to allow cars back in Forest Park 1 week ago:
What a shitty woman this is. Looking at the map shows that this is a single road maybe 100 yards long with multiple alternative roads all around and yet she wants to act like a child over what might be a whole minute long detour if it were closed.
- Comment on Kate Mulgrew Defends ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ And Captain Ake From “Disrespectful” Online Attacks 2 weeks ago:
STSA feels like a blend of Lower Decks and Discovery to me. I also had issues with Discovery (though it got better after the time jump) but have been enjoying Academy each week.
- Comment on "And you people, you're all astronauts on... some kind of star trek?" James Cromwell announced for STLV to celebrate the 30th anniversary of First Contact. 2 weeks ago:
I’ve clicked links all over there site and nowhere can I find actual dates for the convention, which seems like a huge oversight on their part.
- Comment on Is it normal I feel embarrassed about being female sometimes because of feminine smells I don't want to be associated with? 3 weeks ago:
Excuse the pun but something certainly seems fishy about this post. Surely at some point in their life, OP would have been in a room with women and discovered this wasnt true.
They also keep talking about how this is something they’ve heard and read about but then later say they’ve had to leave the room when a lot of women are around because of the smell lingering.
- Comment on London stabbing rates vs X posts about London crime 3 weeks ago:
Yeah these graphs are frustrating. The knife one also has a Y axis starting at 600 along with the numbers being a “rolling 12 month average” of stabbings, whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean.
- Comment on The recent Star Trek series are often criticized for "not being woke enough", but I've come to feel the envelope they are pushing is much more radical, bolder, and important to our specific time... 4 weeks ago:
Well I never said anything about dismissing someone or something just that I found this behavior to be cringe due to it being superficial and inauthentic much like after-school specials or Christian evangelist films. Another example would be corporations who change their logo to a pride flag during pride month but then later suspend this or donate to anti-LGBT causes because they think it’s more advantageous to do so.
It takes a very strong person to stand up and simply accept without judgement.
Sure in the right circumstances, but as you judge me here, let’s not forget that this is a fictional television show put out for entertainment purposes by a multinational corporation not a friend or confidant telling me an uncomfortable truth about themselves.

What do you find to be grossly terrible about it?
No wonder everything is going to hell if people cannot even understand what it means to be done working through shit…
If they were done working through shit then there wouldn’t be any problems left to write a TV show about. What you’re describing is one group of people being superior to another and that superior group swooping in to save the day much like the way America has viewed itself historically.
- Comment on The recent Star Trek series are often criticized for "not being woke enough", but I've come to feel the envelope they are pushing is much more radical, bolder, and important to our specific time... 4 weeks ago:
Agreed. DSC was filled with superficial Mary Sue slop. All anyone ever needed to overcome their problem was a cookie-cutter motivational speech from Burnham, while inspirational music played and the camera slowly panned across every crew members face as they smiled and gave a nod of approval.
It is cringy because it’s like a virtue signaling characature of “wokeness” along the same vein as “after-school TV specials” or Christian evangelist movies of decades past. There’s no depth or substance just endless variations of “there’s no problem that can’t be solved with a hug.”

It’s supposed to be a time after humanity has dealt with all of the stupid in-fighting and conservative BS. It’s supposed to be about a time when the drama doesn’t come from inside the house. When humanity is exploring the stars, not having a moment.
And yet all the drama is derived directly from real world human issues, so what makes a difference between Starfleet characters creating it or some fictional alien race? The latter too closely resembles “American exceptionalism” by acting like Starfleet always has all the answers and can do no wrong and these uncultured foreign aliens need to bend to our will in order to solve their problems. I don’t see that being super appealing considering everything that is happening currently.

I thought it was great and have been enjoying the series so far. It reminds me of Lower Decks blended with a much less offensively cheesy Discovery.

- Comment on Why does apartment management expect you to call the police over every tenant incident? 5 weeks ago:
Can you explain what’s unreasonable about that? External noise may be outside of their control but that doesnt mean they don’t bear some responsibility to ensure that residents have peace and quiet in the place they’re being charged to live. In that scenario, you would typically have the right to break your lease and move out without penalty. With internal noise, they have the responsibility to penalize the noisemaker with fines or eviction.
- Comment on Why does apartment management expect you to call the police over every tenant incident? 5 weeks ago:
I’d be willing to bet that nearly 100% of apartment leases have some language in them about noise meaning apartment managers absolutely do have the power to enforce these limits. Even HOAs, where you buy the property with your own money can enforce their own rules because you agreed to that when you signed the paperwork.
- Comment on How do you think a socialist President would win the 2028 election? Would they use the exact methods used by Zohran Mamdani which earned him the office of Mayor of NYC? 1 month ago:
Why do you think a Mr. Rogers type person would be the ideal choice? That just leads to “we need to forgive and put this all behind us” type responses which drives even more unaccountability, more inaction, and leads to more problems. I think a Mr. Rogers type is the exact opposite of what we need in response to Trump.

Yeah thats just a seal to keep the poop in but not what holds it down to the floor (mostly).
- Comment on Why in hospitals, is 'gun shot wound' appreciated as "GSW"- 1 month ago:
Because we must pay homage to mister World Wide himself, Pitbull, as we browse the internet.
- Comment on Tried to carefully install the faucet immediately after gluing and caulking the sink 1 month ago:
I see what you mean now.
Even still, our toilets in the US are bolted to the floor and only sealed with caulking along the floor to keep water from pooling underneath and rotting the floor. With our American diets, we rely on the structural rigidity of metal bolts to keep things in place during our massive dumps
- Comment on Tried to carefully install the faucet immediately after gluing and caulking the sink 1 month ago:
Toilet seat got glued in as well.
I’ve gotta see a picture of this too. I’ve never seen a toilet seat that wasn’t bolted to the toilet.
- Comment on Is "depress" ever used in this context? 1 month ago:
Also many car manuals tell you to depress the brake to start the vehicle.
- Comment on "Refrigerate after opening and store in the refrigerator door." Why the door for this mayo? 1 month ago:
Our brand new GE fridge is like this. The temperature is set to 41F and it still causes some things to freeze on the shelves.
- Comment on If you were dropped into a pool of people's spit and prevented from getting out, would you melt to death? 2 months ago:
Lmao was your previous comment genuine? I assumed it was some top tier sarcasm/wordplay
- Comment on How come hypothetically if I make meth in my home. Knowing full well it could explode and take out my neighbors houses, why am I not charged with attempted murder? 2 months ago:
Seems like you answered your own question.
We had a week long power outage after a winter ice storm a few years ago and would have been screwed without our gas water heater and fireplace, so I’m a big fan of having both gas and electric.
