Of all the places “AI” absolutely does not belong, in the hands of university students and professors has to be close to the top of the list. What would a place that is supposed to be a center of human learning and founding critical thinking skills need with a product explicitly advertising its self as a shortcut to doing the work and “thinking critically” for you?

If it came on a physical disc, you could use it as a frisbee.

The era when companies sent out physical floppies, which could actually be usefully reused if you didn’t care about the content on them, was a lot better than the physical CD era.

Would have been dope if all those AOL CDs could have been re-written. I’d have definitely used them for free storage.

    Never understood.

    • “Kids, you’ll get penalized if you use AI for any of your school work. We have tools to check for that. That’s cheating.”

    • “Kids, here’s a free subscription to AI. Go nuts.”

Cmon! Become dependent on a subscription to “thinking”. You can think more if you pay more!

Honesly, claude would have been a much better choice - at least it would be useful for the engineers.

Don’t let them benchmarks lie to you, chatGPT fumbles just about everything you trow at it.
