Not a reliable source here, I had to take an eastern world history class between 1500 - 1900 in college and I very much didn’t want to be there. Opium was big product in west china from the poppy plants and seeds that grew easily there. So the times I know of they were using ships for some trade already. There was a divided nation and Japan was known for coming in and pillaging and fucking things up over and over. Britain came into the scene, took advantage of that, and established a colonial trade of tea. Opiate use was used as a way to control the local people, at times, made illegal at times. It was just a cluster fuck for decades and a bit of the reason opium isn’t normalized in Europe today as eastern cultures grabbed back power over their industries. Idk. You are better off going on a Wikipedia dive!

Opium was a major problem in parts of history. Especially China/Silk Road times

I also see hoomans as collections of their individual pieces and am disgusted by their carbon-based appendages. One tried “speaking” to me by contracting disgusting throat muscles while exhaling air and flapping their boney-ingestion bear trap hole in strange ways. I saw small clouds of bacteria, viruses, and spit fly out of this hole. It was all very terrifying but I was horny. Worked out fine. Flesh bag’s aren’t so bad.

I agree with you but in defense of the image in front of us, they still show atoms in the rest of the photo. I take that as the representation of “reality” and the commentary as being more about perception and not some alternate reality.
- Comment on Is the "Gen z stare" a real thing? 3 weeks ago:
I have absolutely seen this and experienced this. Although, I don’t think it’s much different from any teenager or young person working shitty jobs in any decade I’ve lived or seen in media. The silent term staring you down at fast food is timeless.
- Comment on What are your hallmark games? What games have shaped how you view games? 3 weeks ago:
Half life 2. I could conceive of shooter games but until playing HL2 as a teenager, I didn’t quite understand how much storytelling they could pack in. Suddenly, it felt like games could be thoughtful and entertaining pieces of art instead of solely fun time
- Comment on Is trying weed edibles worth it? 4 weeks ago:
True. I built up a tolerance and got my wife to try some this way. She woke up high and continued to be so for about a day. Oops.
- Comment on Is trying weed edibles worth it? 4 weeks ago:
Go for it. Make sure you are in a safe and comfortable place with something fun or entertaining in front of you. I wouldn’t personally go out or try to be social in anyway at first (unless you have close friends you trust). I didn’t try until my late twenties and it is fun and addictive for me. The people around me are affected differently and get too much paranoia so your mileage may vary! Edibles are a stinkless way to go about it but remember you need very little at first to feel it. I think it does so much less damage to your body than alcohol but I wouldn’t trust a strangers’ opinion on the internet that far.

This episode was what I was hoping for out of this show. The first episode was such whiplash that I’m glad it is settling down. This episode we got a cool character study that had actual impact. Cool lore that made sense. Characters had long one on one conversations. Parallel storytelling with the debate. Maybe even the hint of a natural progressing gay romance? All storylines mattered. Good job Modern Trek!

I agree. I think Jaden spoke about it pretty well that it’s about understanding their language and culture. Earning a hunt vs being gifted it.

- Comment on At this point, what should we do about the ICE raids? If an ICE agent breaks in without a warrant or holds you at gunpoint, what do you do? 2 months ago:
I wasn’t trying to imply the gun safety thing will make a difference in the current atmosphere. Just that pressuring and changing local government helps and is something to do. Idk man.

I’m from a suburb of Minneapolis. Civil engagement is a good way to go. Recent events (shootings) got people to get our city council to figure out what they could do for gun safety. ICE hasn’t touched our wealthy suburb yet, though. There hasn’t been a city meeting since Renee Good, though. Next city council meeting will be 🔥

I think it’s the fact that Trump acts and surrounds himself with homophobic people so the idea of him giving head to his enemy he’s openly complained about is hilarious to no end. That and the actual implications with Putin holding the photos over his head.

I think there are different seasons of life and different moods for wanting to listen to the world around. When I got into backpacking it becomes a pretty conscience decision when deciding to listen to a podcast or some music or go for 5 hours of silence. Live your life and go with the flow. If your tunes die, find a way to make a life lesson in some way or fashion that makes sense to you. Our ancestors were stuck with nothing but themselves and local community so I guess connect with your primal self.
- Comment on What personal dramas have you witnessed with/among your fellow players while gaming? 5 months ago:
Not exactly drama but… In 2020, Verizon fucked up and kept me out of my new phone and I spent literally 20 hours on customer support (on my gf’s phone) and going to stores. They ended up throwing me a bone and I had a $300 Verizon store coupon. Free oculus quest #worthit?
Trying out the online community apps was intense. Upon popping into any Meta-ran space you would be flooded by children squeaking the most vile shit at each other. Occasionally there would be an older voice saying bad words to the children and laughing as they scream. What an awful place. But in other realms, there could be cool moments, too. Like an old Australian man moderating a conversation with a very international and diverse crowd around a campfire. Sure it’s cartoony and you can experience wide conversations on the web but it’s another thing to have proximity chat with stereoscopic vision. It feels like an actual “memory.” That was all terrifying and I have really touched the device in four years.

There are SO ✖️MANY bananas🍌, but most people have only eaten the ☕️🎩Cavendish. Awhile back, I got a box of assorted 🙋🏻♂️🙆🏽♂️💁🏿♂️bananas🍌 from a 🧑🌾🐓🐷farm that specializes🚜 in growing unusual fruit. I ate about twenty🧑🌾😮💨 pounds of 🍌bananas in three weeks. So many fucking 🤾🏼♂️🍌🅱️nanners spread across my entire kitchen countertop for weeks, ripening in stages.🧑🏻🌾🧑🏽🌾🧑🏾🌾🧑🏿🌾
My life has been a lie😢. Yours too.🪞 🇺🇸We’ve all been hoodwinked. 💇♀️😉We are getting fucked🍆🍌, and 🙅♂️not in the good way🙅♀️, because 🤢Cavendish is a straight up⬆️🗑️ garbage💩 fruit. There are tiny tart toothsome 🇹🇭Thai 🍌bananas, chunky Cuban🎅🏻🚬🍌, alluring Apple 🍎🍌, beauteous burro💋💄🫏🍌, pleasurably plump Pisang 🥺, orally🥹 outstanding orinoco🍌, mouth👄watering💦 Mysore😫🍌, and the gustatorily🫃🍌 magnificent Gros 🤮 Michel, the OG mass production 🅱️naner, which was replaced by 🤢Cavendish in a mycological midlife🧗🏻🚵🏻🤹♂️ crisis🚑 (I’m drunk and if I was a 🦕dinosaur🦖, I’d be a tiny tenacious 🐙thesaurus 📚tenuisi). Plus more. So 🍌many 🍌more. Fucking. Bananas.🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊🍌
They all taste👅 like 🍌bananas, but each is a 👼little
✝️☪️✡️🕉️🔯🕎different, some more than others, but they all had more taste👅 that those 🤢Cavendish🇬🇧💂♂️ fuckers! So get 🍌ucked Chiquita, Dole, and Del🧑🏽🍼 Monte. My banana🍌 bread🍞 sucks 🤤 because of y’all.🔚

I think the young generation has seen the pattern of clowns generations above them, either relying on ad-radio or Spotify, and have turned to piracy or physical media for this. My BIL recently got into buying CDs from goodwill? I lived through the consumer generation of physical hoarding so Spotifydl is fine for me.
