Trans person here. It depends on which hormone therapy you’re taking.
Testosterone has a tendency to override feminizing hormones, so people who are on FtM HRT often only need to take testosterone and submit annual blood panels. But since testosterone is literally toxic in high quantities, and can cause heart palpitations, it needs to be administered carefully. Transmasc folks either go into a clinic to have it administered, or in some places they’re trained on how to safely self-administer.
If you’re transfemme, you have to take a cocktail of medications, since feminizing hormones have a slightly more complex response than just T. MtF people need antiandrogens, progestogens, and estrogen for their therapy. Estrogen is the real heavy lifter for most of this, but progesterone is important for things like growing tits.
Of course, not everyone can go on HRT, which is why transmedicalism (the idea that you’re only valid as a trans person if you’re pursuing medical transition like HRT and surgery) is frowned upon in most corners of the queer community. Some people have serious endocrine or cardiovascular illnesses that make HRT dangerous. Other people, especially in countries where being queer carries the death penalty, already are at risk for voicing their thoughts and feelings. They’re exactly as trans as I am, whether or no they’re on HRT.

Forgive me for pointing this out, but literally your entire continent was complicit in enslaving the native populations of other continents. Settle down, white boy, you ain’t perfect.

V Rising. It’s basically goth Terraria. You’re playing as a vampire who just came out of a thousand-year hibernation, and your whole goal is to find and kill Dracula. You start by bullying skeletons with your bare hands to harvest their bones, and go all the way to building an enormous automated castle that can process thousands of units of raw materials.

Forgive me for asking, but… how?? The LD50 for cannabis is 980 mg/kg. For an adult weighing 180 lbs / 81 kgs, that would require nearly 1.62 kg of straight THC to the veins.
I mean, that’s the LD50 for THC. But for it to actually change your blood acidity, you must have had to take an insane amount. Was it an industrial exposure?

I’d like it better if its entire existence couldn’t literally be a prop in a dystopia novel. Ruthlessly exploiting malnourished cows and their calves, watered down to pad profits, jugged in plastic, extorting ungodly amounts of land and water resources, sold by a corporation that has a bigger bottom line than most sovereign nations, sold to the impoverished and brainwashed masses that fuel the very destruction of the only planet we fucking have.
That, and it’s 2%. Whole milk or no milk, and I will die on that hill.

I would like to point to the sheer number of times that a ‘bunch of hillbillies with guns’ trounced the fuck out of our military just through sheer endurance, stealth, and decentralization.

Two ideas; One, never fight a land war in Asia. Similarly, never fight a land war in America. Second, the American military is infamously bad at asymmetrical warfare and vulnerable to sabotage.
Couple that with an entire administration that has decided to make loyalty to the Führer the most important job qualification, and a shit ton of pissed off competent vets who still know how to fly a fighter jet or drive a tank, it would probably be more evenly matched than most Americans think.
- Comment on America 2 months ago:
Literally this. I was never in the military, and I’m glad they literally can’t draft me unless they lower a lot of requirements really fast. But 24-hour time is just so much more sensible. There’s no “AM or PM?” follow-up question, no guesswork. It just makes sense.
If they made metric time, I’d adopt that shit in a heartbeat.

Worst crash I ever had on a bike was during a commute to work. It was winter and it was dark in the morning, and the bridge over the river had gotten icy. I hit my brake and slid, went straight into the retaining wall on the embankment, headfirst over my handlebars. I’m fucking lucky I was wearing my helmet.
Ended up putting a decorative bandage over the scuff on the helmet shell where I would have split my head open. It looked gnarly. I got a new helmet first thing as soon as I got my next paycheck. Kept it on a shelf for a while.

I’ve been hit by cars before on my bicycle. Six times.
You know what it was, every single time? The driver was turning right, and looking for oncoming traffic from the left. I tried to cross, and didn’t know they hadn’t seen me. Ran over my front tire, or just knocked me over.
I’m damn lucky those were all extremely slow speed collisions and they stopped as soon as they heard me scream. But honestly? Fuck cars. I shouldn’t have been forced to cross at the sidewalk to begin with. And they should have been looking for pedestrians anyway.

Flag football was meant to replace tackle football. Rather than stopping the ball being based on takedowns, the players wear a belt with flags on their hips. If an opposing player yanks a flag off the belt, that’s where the stop is counted.
Oh, but nooooo, it’s not manly and powerful and warrior-like enough. So it never really got popular outside of high school gym class.

Asking as an American, from my understanding, it’s supposed to be a lighthearted tease. No one’s serious or malicious about a Southern English accent on this side of the pond.
That said, having coached friends in the UK on American accents before for theater and voice acting and other things, I do have a legitimate question. Understand, I hope this is of no offense to you. But why is it the only two accents most Brits can do are Texan and Boston?
