For all numbers I know (I didn’t look anything up, but so did nobody else) I’m at a bigger risk of being run over when I cross the street to the store. And glasses surely are a bigger inconvenience than not having onions when you wanna cook or beers when the footie is on.

To be fair those places do exist. Just don’t go looking for advise on being human on the site literally known for being terrible at humaning. Even the Old Place had and still has areas with very decent discourse.

Look, I know what I heard. And that was every old school screen I’ve ever encountered. What I don’t know is harmonic or flyback transformers.
Maybe maybe it’s a ntsc vs pal thing? I’ll restate, I don’t know anything about the tech but I could tell if a screen was on.
And before you restate that they were low quality: maybe every screen I’ve ever encountered was shit, yea. But then shit was the default apparently.

Me too. And like the other guy, all of them, unless I’ve only encountered shit CRTs.
I’ve also stopped hearing it in my mid 20s when I’ve no longer seen a CRT monitor anywhere. If I’ve lost that frequency I don’t know.

I’ve switched to iOS exclusively about 10 years ago cause I got tired of android being full of it. I just wanted a phone that works without me tweaking every little thing. I don’t regret the choice one bit, other than giving money to the other tech giant.
This is not me hating android either; I guess I was unlucky with the phones I had.
That said, being a dev myself, my phone shouldn’t be a side project I maintain, but something I can use with ease. Apple products fit that description for me and just as that won’t be a universal sentiment (which it never should be) that’s nothing to be scoffed at.

It’s not always my death for me, but I often have very, very violent dreams that include fist- or knife fights at the very least. I feel you, it’s absolutely horrendous.

Maaaaate same. There was this one girl I dated whom I’ve told I just don’t feel like doing what she felt like doing that night and she said “Alright, we can just watch some more eps of <show we were watching>” and I broke down right there and then.
I ended up forcing my own options on her which isn’t healthy in itself but we could and can talk about this and it’s so weird.

Sure, if you’re homeless you save on rent. But then do you eat out every day? Spend time in bars instead of on your couch?
Living in your car might be feasible in North America but good luck trying that in Europe. Also good luck keeping a bank account let alone a job without an address.
If I want to live close to my job without paying rent or taking a loan I gotta save about 1M Euros and be lucky with finding a place. That’s a lot of skipped Frappuccino lattes.
