You could probably air drop one goldfish into a 100 gallon tank and it’d be fine (assuming it survived the fall).
- Comment on It was rigged? 5 days ago:
This wasn’t the first boxing match for either of them; their brains are finely pureed already. As proof: they both agreed to this fight.
- Comment on nighttime pollinator gang rise up 5 days ago:
If you wanna help moths, combatting light pollution so they can enjoy the moon
Just be sure to do the combatting during the day, so the fires don’t distract the moths at night.

I’m in agreement that we might have a few too many guardrails, but stupid people tend to exist in groups, and cooperation is the best path to survival.

There’s only one way to filter politics out of your time online: don’t go online.

Yeah those prices might have been accurate about a century ago.

So that’s why Windows Explorer has to be restarted every 30 minutes!

Digital messaging has autocomplete, and while it ducking sucks (and is getting worse, thanks LLMs), it still does all the work for you.
- Comment on How do you officially pronounce a possessive like: " Travis' "? 2 weeks ago:
I would, at the least, desire to egg that MIT prof’s house. Language is about communication, and if everyone has their own rules there can be no communication. If you spell it Travis’ I’ll be asking you what a Travi is.

At least 4.
- Comment on Anon rizzes up a girl 2 weeks ago:
By context I think the room temperature IQ poster is saying “something”, but as I am one of The Olds, I cannot be sure. I know rizz as a noun, so it doesn’t make sense in the context they used it in.

Replacing a letter with an asterisk is still “swearing”. Censorship, on its face, is ridiculous. If the “family friendly” forum allows “swear” words with one or more letters blurred, they’re mindless hypocrites.
I’m sure you know this, not targeting you with any of my ire.
- Comment on Business execs just said the quiet part out loud on RTO mandates — A quarter admit forcing staff back into the office was meant to make them quit 3 weeks ago:
If they lay off employees, they have to pay severance and/or unemployment. If the employees quit due to unreasonable mandates, they can be fired with “cause”.
- Comment on Anon gives up dating apps 3 weeks ago:
And, the important second part to that, is to join a club without looking to date. Men (and very occasionally women) who join clubs or teams or whatever with dating as the first priority smell like desperation and end up making the experience worse for everyone, including themselves.

Context specific definitions are the bane of my autistic existence. Figuring out context is a waste of brainpower that could be better used having anxiety over situations that aren’t going to happen.
/Completely serious, but not quite as strongly as worded here.

When I was being raised as a young earth creationist, the earth was supposedly 12,000-20,000 years old. Then it was 10,000 years old. Then only 6,000. After I outgrew that nonsense, I joked that in a few decades YECs would say that their god created the earth in 1980, and anyone older than 40 are agents of the devil sent to test your faith.

Based on the endless gray clouds I’m going to say UK (and also that they call a gas station a “garage” despite no mechanics on duty).

I would love AI. Still waiting for it. Probably 50 years away (if human society lasts that long).
What I hate is the term being yet another scientific term to get stolen and watered down by brainless capitalists so they can scam money out of other brainless capitalists.

The AKC and other “dog standards” organizations should be labelled as animal abusers for their rigid requirements in dog breeds. If PETA wants to do good in this world, that’s who they should be targeting.

Gross and unappealing is the new hot ad strategy! They’re going for the “I only eat there ironically.”

Yeah they’re not like wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets, who know nothing but hate and malice in their yellow and black striped hearts.

Funded by fossil fuels. The scariest concept to a capitalist is something being too cheap to matter.
- Comment on If Republicans have Project 2025. Why don't Democrats have their own guide book? 1 month ago:
That would require having policies, and not just a campaign strategy of “We’re not as bad as the Other Guy!”

That number is between 0-2 depending on how many cashier lanes there are.

It’s faster for me, slower for the other 799 people in line before me who have never stepped foot in a grocery store before today.
Obvious hyperbole but some days it doesn’t feel like much of an exaggeration.
