- Comment on Steam Owner Valve Faces $900 Million Lawsuit Over PC Monopoly Claims, Following UK Tribunal Ruling - IGN 8 hours ago:
Hah, not from me! It won't be the first time that I buy a game on Steam that I previously played for free on EGS, just so I can buy the DLC. I will never spend a cent on EGS.

Wait, what, it's possible to have 8 dwarf lobbies? That is so cool!

The big advantage of the robot over human pals is that you can send items directly to your ship. In coop you need to carry it. The biggest downside is that it uses soooo much ammo when acting as a ship gunner. I'm flying the small ship and put on the lance railgun. The long reload time ensures that the bot can't waste all my ammo.

Same for me! I just unlocked the cargo dispatcher and the tier 2 building mats to build them, so I wiped my entire spaghetti factory and I'm rebuilding in a nice bus layout, transporting in the remote ores using the dispatchers.
I like that there's more combat in the game. I was a tad disappointed that, when I entered a cave for the first time carrying a lot of guns and ammo, I only found some plants and crystals. I was prepping for a big fight with bugs hiding from the rupture! 😄 - Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, I don't like being shoved in an intro cinematic without being able to turn on subtitles.
- Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 2 weeks ago:
Depends on the game. I play Jump Space that occasionally does this (not all buttons, but some). It is to ensure that you deal with enough enemies so they won't interrupt you while holding/charging the button. If you're interrupted, you need to start over. It ensures you don't simply sprint past everything while hitting the buttons.

It appears to only partially work on Mbin. It got my upvotes but not my downvotes

Boomer shooter doesn't sound too derogatory to me. Friendslop does.

...are you a rock climber / boulderer too by chance?
Once I thought I had pretty uncommon hobbies but then I read somewhere that playing music and bouldering are like the two top hobbies for developers 😄 Apparently they all tickle the same parts of the brain

- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 5 weeks ago:
Do you know where those rules are? I'm genuinly interested in where exactly they draw the line. I constantly see people ranting about gen AI when used for art, but even simple, basic code autocomplete is AI under the hood these days. I can't imagine developers not using autocomplete.

Someone I know cosplays as a Nazi. He doesn't walk around the streets wraring an armband. He goes in full military gear, riding around on an original WWII german bike with sidecar at WWII historic events. You know, like a cosplayer.

I got "Nightingale" for free a while ago on EGS but I couldn't play it on my old PC. I just got a new so I can finally try it out. It's okay. Not great. It looks great though. It's just that the gameplay is a bit bland. I believe it's still in early access though, so things may change!
- Comment on the game "Horses" now barred on Steam, Epic and Humble Bundle 1 month ago:
That's because Valve is privately owned and this has largely resisted the enshittification that largely plagues public companies and private equity frims.

- Comment on Sean Murray just crushed my hopes of playing Light No Fire anytime soon 1 month ago:
Not only do they feel isolated, they also feel the same. NMS technically has billions of unique planets. In practice it has about 10 or so because they all feel the same. And even those look alike because they're all sparsely populated worlds. Big stretches of emptiness filled with the occasional POI. Where are the mega city planets? The forge worlds with heavy industry? Any city with more than 100 inhabitants?
- Comment on Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’ 2 months ago:
Does this specify the kinds of AI? Are none of these devs using code completion on their IDEs? Or refactoring tools? Because the bulk of them use AI these says.

Ah, that could be it. I played Don't Starve on PS4, but Cult I bought on Steam. I know for sure that Cult has local coop.
- Comment on Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of October 5th 3 months ago:
Don't Starve Together is local split screen. Cult of the Lamb is local coop without split screen. The dungeons are divided in rooms and split screen isn't necessary. It just zooms out enough that you're both on screen. Except in camp. There you need to stay somewhat together or you go off screen.
- Comment on Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of October 5th 3 months ago:
I got Cult of the Lamb in the steam sale. Now playing it couch coop with my wife. It's been a lot of fun so far. Less frustrating than Don't Starve Together.

The problem is that in MTG you can't avoid the crap you don't want. With D&D I can just ignore the crossover books and ban them from my table. But eith MTG you have no control over the kind of deck your opponent brings.

For me it wasn't so much te runback, as it was fighting your spirit every time. I hated that. Especially if you died in a difficult platforming section. It only made it more difficult
