- Comment on Sure, WSJ. Next do an article on Selection Bias 1 day ago:
Also European here. And just to bring some more up to date examples.
My colleague bought a nice big flat some 5 odd years ago. If he wanted to buy the exact same thing today, he literally wouldn’t be able to afford it, not even with much worse terms. For the same money he’d need to move to some small dinky house in the countryside.
My aunt bought a flat 7 years ago for almost 1.5 million CZK, and then 2 years later one for 2 mil. Today, they’re both worth at least 10 each.
Income has not grown like that in the past decade. These are arguably successful people that literally wouldn’t be able to recreate their success today, only a few years later. Shit’s going down hill and it’s going down hill fast.
So for me and my GF, buying a house is a pipe dream. We just about manage our current flat, which is already cheap, we both earn comfortably above average and she even works overtime often enough. Buying a house or having a child are literally crippling decisions.

- Comment on CEO to Worker Pay Ratios for S&P 500 Companies 1 week ago:
To think I’d only need to double my income to be rich beyond what I can consume on my own as opposed to barely scraping by. And now the average CEO makes 100x that. Anybody feeling like going Postal?
- Comment on Bumper sticker 2 weeks ago:
Nobody is asking you to fly someone’s flag. Trans people just want the freedom of not being refused jobs and generally not be verbally assaulted and then denied at any institution they visit. These people can barely live, because assholes in power actively go out of their way to fuck them over.
Oh what’s that? You look, sound and act like a man, but upon closer inspection your ID says F? Guess you’re just not a good fit for this society, sorry, better luck next time!
I’m sick of people making this about some culture war. It’s about freedom of expression. A core principle of the constitution and the human rights charter! A violation of such core principles, will eventually came to bite you too, once trans people, but also immigrants and other minorities are gone and the rich need a new scapegoat. Next will come thought crime, once we all look the same, like in the old days.

- Comment on Palworld Developer Reveals The Pokémon Patents Nintendo Claims It's Violating 4 weeks ago:
Pretty sure 1 and 3 could be applied to many modern actions games. Software patents shouldn’t exist! Same with apple’s patents for specific menu animations. It’s fucking evil!

We even got GIF! Now that it’s starting to show its age.
- Comment on IPhones' default photo format is HEIC, something that Windows doesn't open by default. 5 weeks ago:
As much as I love to hate on apple, any of this format shit is 100% Windows bullshit. It’s not just pictures, with shit like webm, or some random video codecs it’ll ask you to FUCKING BUY! But even shit like Windows only supporting some like 3 file formats from the god knows how many out there. Ever since I switched to Linux (heck, even fucking MacOS would do better) all this stopped being an issue. Fuck windows for literally only supporting their special selection of formats. There’s a good reason why the first step of many people installing windows is also Installing VLC or MUCH superior image viewers. Because Microsoft chooses to not support most things out there!
- Comment on Why are most mobile games trash? 5 weeks ago:
There are plenty of good mobile games, the problem is none of em get promoted on Google Play, finding em is like a fucking treasure hunt.

- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 5 weeks ago:
Hell yea mate! Wonder if it would be possible to somehow over engineer it to automatically switch. Theoretically should be possible, but yea, some games are really stubborn when it comes to sound outputs.
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 5 weeks ago:
Understandable I guess, my gf also doesn’t get my setup. It really shines best when you can control 99% of all actions with a keyboard or controller alone. Sadly can’t do my day job on this setup either, not because it wouldn’t be possible, but because my company uses old ass shitty software that requires you to use clunky UIs. Not an issue with my personal projects tho! :)

I’m a bit confused by your comment, but I think we agree?
Sex workers absolutely should reject someone if they don’t want to. But this kind of “hell yes, but fuck no” shenanigans just leads to a lot of headaches. I’d say in any context.
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 5 weeks ago:
Condolences appreciated. Luckily I get to walk around quite a bit, because my work and errands are in walking distance, but yea…
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 5 weeks ago:
Lol, that’s my setup, but with an actual computer, not some dinky console. You wouldn’t belive how comfortable coding on a TV with a good wireless keyboard is. And if I feel like laying back and watching something or gaming? HAHA! Already on the couch BABY! Man, it makes me feel old, but I have no shame. Also have a little lap table, so I can use a mouse for the odd occasion I’m playing something with an FPS camera.
- Comment on Anon meets up with a girl 5 weeks ago:
Yea no clue, it’s tough. What finally helped me out of it was me being lucky enough to have a good friend that connected me with a like minded soul. Turns out I was just surrounded by assholes and broken people and needed that jump out into a different community. It’s why I feel especially bad for these incel types, because I fear if I didn’t have that friend, I’d be the same a couple years later. They feel abandoned and they might be right in a weird twisted way. But without a healthy path to improve and actually achieve meaningful connections with people, it’s just fucked.
- Comment on Anon meets up with a girl 5 weeks ago:
This ^^^ It would also hurt a lot less, than letting the poor guy guess what she’s thinking.
- Comment on Anon meets up with a girl 5 weeks ago:
Considering that this kind of soft unspoken rejection is the same tactic women use to lose pickup “artists” and other perceived predators or just unwanted people, if in anon’s shoes, this is the moment I’d consider running away for my own peace of mind. In my experience, it’s a good idea to not stick around people that reject you on the basis of being “too good”.
- Comment on Anon meets up with a girl 5 weeks ago:
It’s a very common conclusion among men. Before I finally met my gf at 23, I thought the same thing. Getting friend zoned left and right and pushed away while everyone else is whoring all day everyday for as far as you can remember makes you feel like an expired rotting piece of shit. Sentences like “You’re too good, you deserve better”, “Someone must like you, you’re great!” or even sentences from oder women like “Oh, girls must like you handsome.” just start feeling like thinly veiled insults, like everyone is making fun of you, even if they aren’t.
- Comment on Anon doesn't tip 1 month ago:
Really? Holy shit… I’m in Czechia. And we have both living wages for waiters (it’s been driving our restaurant prices unusually high lately) and a minimum wage. Altho the minimum wage is quite low. Roughly 650€ of full-time when converted. Thankfully I haven’t seen jobs listed that low, I only know it because I managed to negotiate a payed internship and that’s what they gave me before my raise.
- Comment on Anon doesn't tip 1 month ago:
Here in Europe, waiters actually get a living wage, and still we’re expected to tip??? Like yo fuck that! I never go to regular restaurants unless it’s with a work colleague that refuses to go to the canteen. Oh my sweet canteen, so cheap yet plentiful, satisfying my stomach, mind and wallet, a true blessing.

- Comment on Serious statement: I don't understand the argument that not voting for Harris was the morally correct thing to do, because of Gaza. Why does anyone believe this? 1 month ago:
If Gaza is such a hot topic for you, how do you justify letting someone that absolutely despises muslims and would love to see them eradicated, enter the white house and likely lift all restrictions on Israel and delivery anything they ask for? There’s little doubt that Haris would have changed the situation much at all, but a Trump win basically solidifies the Palestinian’s fate to die as Israel’s war equipment guinea pigs. Do you feel like your inaction is fine because either way, the genocide doesn’t end?

Economy? Ah yes, let’s elect the person that wants to put 100% sanctions on literally everything. Masterful gambit sirs. Ya’ll can rot in hell!
- Comment on There are Minimum Wages, Why Not a Maximum Wage? 1 month ago:
Considering there’s no fully legal and definitely no moral way to get that kind of money, they should all be behinds bars. As for kids that inherit such wealth, shame on them for accepting blood money and doing literally nothing with it, besides make the world around them even worse.
- Comment on Anon gives up dating apps 1 month ago:
Dating is a complete shit show. People that say to just work on your self are only telling half the story. Of course it’s important to be open and actively willing to improve, but it’s equally as important to identify the kind of people in your life. Legit, the only reason I’m not a complete fucking incel today is because I was lucky enough to have a friend to connected me with someone I wouldn’t have ever met otherwise.
I was convinced that all my self-improvement was pointless as I kept getting shoved away as a monster for simply being a man and getting cucked by literal rapists. Felt like what I believed in must have been fundamentally flawed somehow, that I was just broken. Turns out I was just used to attracting shit people.
- Comment on Minecraft is losing VR support next year 1 month ago:
I knew and even tried it before, but I completely forgot it existed because it sucked so much. Nobody can see you moving your hands and tilting your head, which kills all the fun of a VR multi-player game IMO. It’s just a glorified controller binding for VR headsets. Considering all the other wacky things they added, I don’t see why they didn’t add actual VR support.
