minecraft can be very nice and wholesome, it’s just that nice and wholesome doesn’t sell (or rather big companies don’t think it sells in this case). hermitcraft is an example of nice and wholesome minecraft, just a bunch of people playing on one minecraft server for a year or more (and then they start a new world, restarting the series in a new season) and making videos about every week. the members are usually pretty creative and kindhearted, and I can’t really complain about them at all except maybe iskall, who had allegations pop up about him sexting women while married, who reacted to the allegations super unhelpfully and who left or got kicked off the server very quickly. major decisions like that are done by the server members voting on decisions instead of just one person being a bit dictatorish.
- Comment on why are they pushing kpop demon hunters so badly? Who makes money off this new group? 1 week ago:
i thought it was fine with the exception that it seemed to me like some plot was being skipped near the end. it’s good when viewed together with other people though.
- Comment on Uhhh... It's a work phone 2 weeks ago:
if you use a google pixel with grapheneos, you can have multiple profiles that work similar enough to having multiple phones, with apps in each profile only being able to see what’s happening in that one profile, and if you close a profile every app in that profile is stopped completely

according to wikipedia the united states are 42.9% obese and germany 24.2%, what may instead be happening is either not being accurate in your headcount or that in germany obese people go outside more than in america or that maybe obesity is distributed differently, potentially similarly in both countries but you were only for example in rural areas in america but only in urban areas in germany

there are social octopuses, like the larger pacific striped octopus. imo octopuses had 150 million years to rule the planet and they just weren’t good enough. skill issue. us humans only had 2-4 million years. i’d say we’re doing quite well comparatively.

In my childhood in Germany kids didn’t need to be picked up or dropped off, we either walked or took public transit (not dedicated school buses either). As far as I can tell that’s still the case where I live. It’s a very different urban design that facilitates it, and it results in more human lives in my opinion.

as funny as this comment is, do console wars really need to exist? does brand loyalty and basing your identity on the products you consume need to exist?

my last dream had me explaining to somebody that i do actually know how to use vim and don’t need any teaching. i was doing something high-stakes i think, like we were stealing a famous museum piece or something, and someone took out a hacker laptop with vim and i needed to operate it. the question was being asked right in the moment. i think the whole scene was just training or practice though.

i think the rich have seen the avocado toast problem for a long time. that’s why they sell you avocado toast, because clearly it’s making you poor and they have too much of it.

to be fair what has happened to oblivion is that the game still runs entirely on the old creation engine, but the renderer and all the graphics assets have been swapped for unreal engine. you get old bugs as well as new bugs.

there’s probably some primordial vampire or anti-vampire god going through each case one by one and either letting the vampire come in or not, and it all happens in an instant. i imagine the results would change with the political ideology of said god.

I am appalled at the fact that some people have casual sex with people they don’t intend to marry. That’s insane! But also yeah that’s the infinity of human expression, people are just all kinds of different.
