I’m not seeing an option for element call, there’s just p2p for 1:1 calls option which I have enabled. easyeffects mutes my audio completely and I have to timeshift to get it back 😅

having a hard time finding a good alternative for screen sharing in a voice call. recently deleted discord and me and my buddy moved to matrix (element) but the screen sharing is very laggy and it needs a more aggressive mic noise removal. we speedrun a singleplayer game together and use screen sharing for that. steam can do all this but the delay is unacceptable.
honestly I’m this close to going back to discord 🤏

you using a laptop? maybe it used the iGPU, I’ve heard of that being a problem. on my rig, mint actually has a few fps more than on nobara for example. and some old games won’t launch in kubuntu. the distro definitely does matter, one just has to find the right one.

when i was in 5th grade (in 2004), i had never seen a computer before. we had our first IT class in school, and after turning the computers and monitors on, we were told to look for an icon that says internet explorer and click that. i looked for a good 5 minutes and i couldn’t find it. showed the guy next to me my mousepad that had lots of pictures and text on it, “i can’t find internet explorer”. he pointed on my monitor and told me in should be in a special school.
