absolute cancer of an organisation

the recent avatar game is a great example of actually hitting the mark visually and superficially (probably one of the better looking games I’ve ever played) and the physics and gameplay in the world are pretty damn good. but people complain the story is boring. and yeah it’s not amazing. I don’t think it’s terrible, and it’s a game really built to explore the environment rather than complete missions.
it’s near impossible to get that perfect game that hits every single button possible. I truly think we gamers need to settle down a bit as a whole. Sure buggy messes that are unplayable are not something we should tolerate, but I think we need to stop treating everything that isn’t perfect as a pile of shit
- Comment on Our basic assumptions about photos capturing reality are about to go up in smoke. 3 months ago:
it’s faster. the fakes can get out there at virtually the same time as the “real” images. any story that may have built is already in dispute before it became a thing. and whimpers away. before if it took a day to get a convincing fake out people would be suspicious

Whether Piccolo actually reviewed the Disney terms is also immaterial,” the motion says.
that’s about the only thing the disney lawyer got right. the terms are bullshit and unrelated to the death

saw it today. I have to admit when “nostalgia” is used in most movies I roll my eyes and cringe, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t have an internal freakout as the cameos hit the screen. holy crap that was nostalgia done DAMN well.
great meta jokes, average plot, average action but as for enjoyment? 10/10. So good to come out of a movie happy and wanting to talk about it, in a good way

anecdotally I’ve simply been noticing less from this instance in my consolidated feed for some time and have unintentionally been elsewhere. I don’t thinks much to it other algorithms doing algorithm things but yeah it’s definitly a nice quiet corner of the internet

pretty much this. she had the targaryn gene and it was always going to be her destiny to succumb to the madness. they did a pretty good job for most of the show showing her explicitly overcoming it but then it was like fuck that get angry and be evil in the space of a few episodes

its not so bad but something you will notice now you know about it!
- Comment on Why Furiosa’s CGI Looks More Fake Than Mad Max Fury Road 6 months ago:
it kind of looks like scenes are being sped up, but when you pay attention you can see the action is moving at a normal pace, but looks faster. it’s a clever effect used in the right places
- Comment on Why Furiosa’s CGI Looks More Fake Than Mad Max Fury Road 6 months ago:
I was rewatching fury road on the weekend and this was something I picked up on I hadn’t noticed before. it’s quite apparent in scenes where a sense of urgency is required, such as when Max is trying to escape from the warboys in the citadel near the start of the movie

I alwaysbinterpreted that scene differently, that batman knew what the joker was doing and made the decision himself to save Harvey, because he thought Harvey was that important for Gotham, more so than batman personal feelings for his girlfriend

“Work hard, be good to your mother”
- Comment on When the landlord asks for a tip 1 year ago:
in NSW Australia it’s even better. you sort your own electricity as a tenant which is fine, but when it comes to water, the landlord pays the fixed fees and tenant pays for usage. except only one bill is issued and it goes to the landlord, who sends a copy of the bill to you with the amount you need to pay.
I think they are looking at tenant billing directly but as of now its this crazy system

absolute crazy bullshit. don’t stand for that. restaurant price here what you see is what you pay. no stupid surcharges and no stupid tipping. fuck all that
- Comment on Restaurant Bill 1 year ago:
even in countries that actually pay their staff right, there’s no way those base prices don’t cover the cost of food, staff and overheads.
then they have the gall to charge a “service charge” to pay the staff.
THEN they have the gall to imply you still need to tip
fuck that to hell

I actually miss when maccas used to make the stuff in bulk and chuck on a rack. you’d order, they’d grab your burger and stuff bag it and your done. now it’s “made to order” and while it’s admittedly pretty quick, during peak times you’ll be waiting a while.
there was never an issue with the bulk system cause everything moved so quick anyway
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
that bullshit where they started serving fries in those dollar shop shitty chrome baskets with that stupid overpriced “create your own” was the turning point I noticed when they lost track of what they were and suddenly thought they were a gourmet burger joint.
that initiative failed, the “gourmet” burgers are relegated to a niche menu item with like 2 choices that hardly anyone orders, so instead they just jack the prices on everything else as though it’s “fancy enough”. I only go there where there is actual cheap deals in the app, and for free coffees earnt through the app. their everyday prices are a complete joke for what they provide
