I mean, it DOES happen. A few of us in our area garden, have chickens, bees or make baked goods. We typically plan out what everyone is going to produce and how much we need and share. You’d be surprised how much you can grow on a relatively small plot. We used to be in the might of town on a standard plat, and had about 1000 square feet of vegetable garden, bee hives, half dozen chickens and a bunch of fruit trees. We produced about 80% of the produce for our family of 7. Now we’re in the country and have doubled those numbers, plus added goats and pigs. There is a substantial set up cost, and it’s hard to do as a renter, but definitely possible.

A few possibilities come to mind. “Digger” is an antiquated derogatory term used for Native Americans in California and some other regions of the West. Also, some people are using it as an Ersatz for the N word in an attempt to veil their racism or bypass automated filters, much like how my inlaws think they are so clever by referring to non-whites as “Canadians.” Racists are rarely as smart as they think they are.

I live in the Sierras and always keep a change of clothes, 72 hours of food and water (plus filter), a small pack, fishing gear and a radio in my car. You never know what could happen. I’ve had quick fishing trips turn into unplanned overnighters and had snow or fallen trees or wildfires block roads at all times of the year. We have exactly 2 roads into and out of our little valley.

About a month ago I was having some bad kidney stone pain and had to drive 2.5 hours home. I threw up twice in the first couple miles it hurt so bad. Then I hit a pot hole and the pain went away. Check mate, doctors.

Literally once of the first dates I took my (now) wife on. She was in an entomology class and I lived in the foothills. I took her on a hike to collect insects for a class project. We also collected a roadkill snake on the way home for her to clean and articulate the skeleton.

100% firearms. Easier to aim and keep on target and easier for people of any strength,size or handicap to use moderately well with minimal training. The only place bows are really better is that they are functionally more simple.
A complete novice can pick up a gun and with minimal coaching be on target after a short time. To get close to the same proficiency and accuracy with a how would take exponentially more time and practice.

He way over-valued our home. It was a site unseen offer based on homes in the area. It was in need of major repairs that would make it difficult to sell on the market. Our realtor ended up buying it from us and then doing a huge renovation on it. She sold it for about double what the guy offered, but had to sink substantial funds into it that I just didn’t have.

We sold our house last year and did work with one of those guys to at least get an idea of value and then went with a realtor and made about 30% more than the cash offer guy.

The crazy thing is that there’s apparently no official database that tracks that. There was just a California firefighter charged with multiple counts of arson and in the article they mention that the statistic isn’t tracked, they went on to do a database search that showed how frequent it is.

Here in California they just keep blaming the super-secret Jewish space laser for starting all the fires. But it doesn’t burn things that are blue, which is why so many people have blue roofs in China.
