It’s been like that for a long time. America is not the way it is because of Trump. Trump is the way he is because of America.
America has been nothing more than a criminal enterprise since Kennedy got shot.

Exactly this. I can’t remember where I saw it, but some years back - during his first stint - I saw an interview with a panel of Trump supporters. They were asked “If Trump shot an unarmed man dead in the street, would you still support him?”. One of the women responded “What did the guy do to get shot?” and everyone else nodded in agreement.

Because in the past, a convicted felon’s political career would be over. Gary Hart’s run for President in 1984 ended when he was rumored to have had an affair with an adult woman.
Meanwhile, Trump is fucking kids and had had multiple affairs on multiple wives.

The actual serious answer is that we’ve always had a corrupt and unlawful and unjust and unfair system. It’s kinda its whole deal. He just did it openly, brazenly, mockingly and 100x worse and more often than anyone in the past. Bro said hold my beers.

The actual disease is the machine that tricked 70+ million people to vote to throw 99.999% of us under the bus to give immense benefits to the .001%.
