      one thing comes to mind.
      its the good old days of intel macs and the utter lack of games on linux. if you wanted to play sth, on a mac, you needed to dualboot windows :/
      ofc that doesn’t really make sense nowadays…

        Because Apple doesn’t provide drivers to their proprietary chips. That’s why there’s a whole reverse engineering effort for that in the form of Asahi Linux.

    I doubt “InstallShield” protected the family computer from the dumb things I installed on it… but it’s comforting to imagine it did something.
