For anyone passing through with nostalgia for CnC Renegade’ multiplayer mode (which was a first-person take on the parent series’ base building) give the fan made remake Renegade X a look. I played several games with full servers when 1.0 launched and it scratched my nostalgia itch like no one’s business. They have the link to the download in the description of the video.
Need to try this. It’s look promising for years now.
My favorite thing about this game is how terrifying the obelisk of light was from a first person view.
Man that was such a great game. Too bad EA decided that C&C had to die

Man i only played the original C&C and to be honest I didn’t even know C&C had a first person shooter! TIL
This game is specifically an FPS set in the first C&C game, which is pretty cool. It uses the buildings from that game and a bunch of the units.
The 3D engine used for this game would go on to be used for the 3D rts games too (Generals, C&C3, Middle Earth, etc).
That’s it, I’m reinstalling!
The background city says “Morrowind” but everything else says… Something else. I can’t tell if this is a genuine game or a mod for Morrowind.
Now I can’t unsee it…
I think they were going for old European village but the color pallet did them no favors …
