Hippopotamus means river horse, I don’t think whoever named these things has ever seen a horse.

wouldn’t say that the graphics of AC1 is bad, the cities just looked all the same. To me what was much more of a problem was the very repetitive gameplay for most of the game. That was both fixed in AC2, the cities got their own style for the most part, loved the carnival in Venice for example.

WTF is this?! The ice cream truck has gelato, always has been this way.

Looks like an alpha, so I assume this is all correct.

For the most part yes. There’s some stupid stuff in there though. Somewhere towards the end there is a boss fight that you’re going to lose in a cutscene, but if you die before the cutscene you have to do the fight over and over again. I think that’s the worst I can say about the game.

Not in Japan.
- Comment on Is Korean phonology difficult? 1 week ago:
Technically, it’s not; it’s a syllabary like Japanese katakana and hiragana.
Hangeul is an alphabet, it has distinct symbols for vowels and consonants, you just write them in syllable blocks. Compare that to hiragana/katakana that has distinct symbols for all possible syllables. Theoretically you could write 한글 (hangeul) as ㅎㅏㄴㄱㅡㄹ, try doing that with hiragana/katakana. Linearised Hangeul was an idea that was actually proposed in the past (source).
- Comment on Do you know examples of mistranslations of in-game dialog from cutscenes via subtitles whilst playing in another language? 1 week ago:
Not in dialog, but something I noticed in the Dead Space remake. In the engineering section of the Ishimura there’s an area called the machine shop, says so over the door on a display, in the French translation it says poste d’achat, which translates back to shopping/buying point, seems like someone only translated the shop part.

I might just start actual sailing again instead of gaming.

Just use an emulator, even PS3 emulation has gotten pretty good.
- Comment on End of an era? 1 week ago:
And PC games have been digital for ages it feels. Still a loss, I usually wait half a year to two years before buying new games and can just pick up whatever I want for 20€ on disc without having to wait for the next PS Store sale, often even the version that includes all the DLCs and the remaster of the previous game.

More like a “traditional” relationship from the 1950s.
- Comment on Are products "for curly hair" supposed to straighten hair, make them more curly, or just formulated not to effect the curl at all? 1 week ago:
As someone with slightly curly hair my experience is that products for curly hair are intended to make it more curly and products for straight hair make it slighty more straight. I wouldn’t expect a product for curly hair to make it straight, but if you have straight hair don’t expect to get curly hair from it either.
- Comment on Poll: Will you buy GTA 6 when it launches on your platform? 1 week ago:
I looked it up, since I wasn’t sure, it looks like online launched about two weeks after the single player game.
And it was a mess and they had to relaunched it some time later. I played it a little, but it was pretty lame even after the relaunch, never understood the hype around it.

Yeah, Liam Neeson nailed the dead pan delivery of the original, it was probably a good idea to not cast a comedian.

- Comment on GTA 6 Price Finally Confirmed, Features a 'Single-Player Experience' at Launch 2 weeks ago:
I don’t know why they chose that exact wording, but it’s really weird and sounds like the single-player campaign is just some by-product of GTA Online. Maybe it’s not, maybe it’s going to be great, I’ll wait anyway, I’m not paying 80€ for this.
