For comparison, Kiwifarms is a site devoted to harassment and hatefulness, especially towards neurodivergent and LGBTQ people and such.
When I said “the opposite of Kiwifarms”, I mean a site dedicated to celebrating neurodivergent and LGBTQ people. rather than harassing them.

You wanted the opposite of Kiwi Farms so I typed it backwards.
I think the opposite of harassment isn’t so much celebrating the targets as defending them directly. In that case, the opposite of kiwifarms is community defense. Everything from infiltrators watching kf from the inside to give the targets an early warning to the folks who provide safehouses for people that can’t stay at home or publish personal infosec guides to help reduce one’s target profile. Every little bit can help when you’re the target of a harassment campaign.
What about online community defense?
It’s not a social media site, but the Special books by special kids YouTube channel is centered around people with special needs or disabilities. Sometimes it’s kids or teens, sometimes it’s adults.
Is that a genZ thing? I didn’t know this existed. Is it like those noughties websites for revenge porn that precipitated the enshitification of the Internet?
Nope. Sadly among all the other things checkering Louis Rosman’s past now, kiwifarms is supposedly part of it.

Celebrating, or hating,someone for characteristics outside their control is really weird to me.
Sites like the one mentioned aren’t worth giving time or attention, even mentally. My mind short circuits into thinking the same about sites celebrating the same.
I’d be awfully annoyed if someone went around celebrating me for having brain damage, as if I’m some prop to be hoisted around.
Instead I’d prefer we’d focus on building sites and communities where such things don’t matter, and where we can all give each other enough leeway to get along amicably.
I’m aware it’s a pipe dream, and people just aren’t good at that, myself included, but the idea is dear to me.

Perhaps, instead of “celebrating”, the opposite of “[vicious] harassment and [ignorant] hatefulness” is virtuous identification and commitment to learning. Thoughts?

I love that sentiment. I feel learning about things I don’t have any familiarity with, be it cultural, historical, physical, or anything else really helps me understand and empathise better.

We had this kind of Internet 20-30 years ago. It was nice. But then humanitarians came, then kids came, corporations… But 30 years ago the Internet was a beautiful place where engineers and geeks lived in harmony.
