When ever you think something sounds too stupid even for trump. No you didn’t.
His stupidity is his defining characteristic among his voters. For the wealthy and powerful, he’s an easily manipulable rube. For the poor saps he says the same stupid things they think and say. He’s just like them, so relatable!

Yep, as an eldergoth man. It was very entertaining and well done. Well out of my wheelhouse but still good.

This. The petite bourgeoisie cannot coexist. They must prey on society by their very nature. And they know that. As such they know that any actual socialist government is going to be set against them and will oppose it. As you have no doubt seen. The Lambs do not lay with the lion.
Unfortunately the only thing they have to offer you is equal but opposed state dogma. Excusing all repression social and otherwise because of the current infrastructure being built and the temporary uplift it brings to the people there. Once the infrastructure is built it will stagnate just like it did in the United states and elsewhere. A fact that they love to ignore. The United states for all its problems raised the material conditions of many people across the globe not just at home. Just like China currently. None of which justifies the bad they do. It’s ultimately not left vs right, or the west vs everyone else. It’s us vs the state. And anyone simping for a state is rightly suspect.

Well it has to be said, Hitler’s was blatant malice and incompetence projected outwards. Had he just slaughtered every romani and Jew in Germany. I don’t think the world would have collectively batted an eye if he’d stopped there.
Mao was largely incompetent internally. Though those attitudes have only metastasized in the country and turned towards malice which is now being set for export.

That depends on implementation. But “technically” could be, though I think the reality more often than not is that it isn’t.
- Comment on Has anyone else noticed the strong pro CCP and anti-west vibes here? 1 week ago:
Indeed. That would be far too reasonable though.

.world has a solid segment of unthinking leninist. Who substitute theory for thought. There isn’t an overarching ideology imposed on .world however. So you will find plenty anarchist/communist, democratic socialist, and even liberals too. But many of the leninist are very online and much more organized in imposing their dogma. Much to the detriment of discussion and the fediverse as a larger entity. A number of their politics specific instances are defederated from many exactly because they were known for brigading discussions. And while it can no longer be done directly from those instances. They still use accounts on other instances including .world.

100%
You can point directly to people and individuals impacted. And they will deny it to your face or find a way to attack the messenger without addressing the message. They have the word of the state. And as we all know. No State anywhere has ever lied or misled. Or any non Western State at least. /s

There were some decent games. What killed it for me was the layout. Constantly bumping the power switch mid game. It happened so often.
- Comment on GIMP: The Movie (2026) | Official Trailer 2 months ago:
Image manipulation program would be a very generic and bland name. And you are always free to not use the full acronym. Or hyphenate it to rework it. GNU-IMP. The G in Gimp was from an acronym already, so loping it off is kind of messy. And an imp with its relation to sprites with their relation to games and rasterization would make for a decent rebrand.

Steam and PC gaming if anything. That and changing life priorities in my 30s and 40s. GoG and epic too. Between them I have almost 1000 games I didn’t pay for. Combined with hundreds on steam from humble etc. I probably spend more time trying to decide what to play than playing it.

And how is not voting for them going to do that? They’re fine with you not voting for them, and even losing in the case of DNC leadership. Always have been.
You want to put pressure on them? Be the candidate to primary the party line candidate in Democratic primaries. Yes they will use every structural advantage they have against you. But if enough people do it constantly. The cracks will widen and show. Otherwise they’re happy to receive donations and funding from the wealthy, even if they don’t win.
To be clear, I think all national parties should be outlawed. Generally state wide ones as well. But unless you can change the political reality we are in. The only possibility is not just holding off the worst possible candidates such as trump. Though more should have shown solidarity against him. But being the candidates we want to vote for. And not letting some uninterested complacent national organization make those decision for us.

I'll say this much. As anarchist, we are often not very good gatekeepers. For better and for worse. As such, I've noticed that quite a few posting from DB0 aren't anarchists recently. Not a great number. But there have been occasions where I've seen posters defending large power structures from the domain. Ones specifically that could give a tanky impression. Make of it what you will. I can see how users that had interacted with those type could think that. I've also seen similar absurd characterizations of other domains.

- Comment on The problem with common names 6 months ago:
Oh that's not even that isolated in Australia. There's a fish caught off their shores that had a whole big marketing push in the 90s and 00s to rebranded it from its common name. Slimehead. Thankfully I think they abandoned commercial marketing of it. They would have fished it out in record time. Seeing as the fish can take north of a decade to mature and reach spawning age.
