I had. And with Maxtor, and Samsung, Fujitsu, Quantum, IBM, and that company I forgot the name but it is started with H.
WD was nice. Not without problems, but nothing Fujitsu MPG tier.

Wow, look: crazies start to address actual problems instead of banning children and forcing IDs. What happened? Some important fascist died?
- Comment on 58 UK public libraries have parenting books with advice to encourage children to detransition 5 days ago:
Why not? Kids are dumb, so when they say they want to change gender it doesn’t mean they really need that. Some do, others just “have the phase”. Like with goth clothes, reading poetry, etc.
So the book might be useful if written well.

The expression “come down in price” will soon be considered grammatically incorrect because people continue to use it while it has no sense in real world economics.
- Comment on Donald Trump just shared an AI video to Truth Social depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys 1 week ago:
No, racism is not a genetic trait. It is a problem of some particular societies.
- Comment on Donald Trump just shared an AI video to Truth Social depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys 1 week ago:
We, humans, are mostly ok. American, Russian, etc problems are not humanity-wide problems. So don’t give up and continue trying to fix yourself.

- Comment on Average house price tops £300,000 for first time, says Halifax 1 week ago:
However there’s constraints as to how fast you can actually start these projects as you need to find suitable land, go through all the red tape and have enough resources (materials, people) to build them.
These constraints are negligibly small for the government, no? And this project can be active for years if needed. “Till it’s over, over there.”
- Comment on Average house price tops £300,000 for first time, says Halifax 1 week ago:
Can’t government just start a huge house-building project? Aren’t huge project is the very reason of the existing of the government? What’s the problem? Build a few million houses/flats, sell them for their real price, and the problem will go away.
- Comment on "Benefit of the doubt" is a very important aspect of a game's success 1 week ago:
Unfortunately that’s not going to help most people.
It will. Maybe some minority live in a crazy fascist regime where they are strictly network monitored, but most people can download demo versions without problems.
- Comment on "Benefit of the doubt" is a very important aspect of a game's success 1 week ago:
99% of the games have demos. Except for ones with denuvo or similar shit, but you shouldn’t play them anyway.
- Comment on "Benefit of the doubt" is a very important aspect of a game's success 1 week ago:
Reviews are the least important info. If you like the theme and screenshots/video looks nice enough to you, then download the demo and test it yourself. If it’s good then it is good, if it isn’t then no GOTY-awards would change that.
Most of the games have a demo version. You just need to look up in the right place.

- Comment on What if the USA decided to use another language as its *de facto* national language at it's founding? How would it affect the world? 2 weeks ago:
Nothing much. Bad timing. USA is loosing its position as an engineering/scientific center. Hollywood is unimportant in the sense of language spread. English is the current lingua franca, not American language.
- Comment on What do you think is the opposite of Kiwifarms? 3 weeks ago:
The ability to prepare the code that aligns the rules is a technical merit. If you are talking about Riser, Shishkin or forgot his name, whose FS was thrown away from the kernel recently. Those guys lived in their own worlds with them in the center :)
- Comment on What do you think is the opposite of Kiwifarms? 3 weeks ago:
It existed. It was just a different concept of “peaceful”. It wasn’t peaceful by current “politcorrect” expectations. It was “show the code or go fuck yourself”. It was based on merits and expertise, not by loudness. Modern Internet is a much more aggressive and repulsive place even if people can’t say “fuck” or “lick the outlet” anymore.
- Comment on What do you think is the opposite of Kiwifarms? 3 weeks ago:
We had this kind of Internet 20-30 years ago. It was nice. But then humanitarians came, then kids came, corporations… But 30 years ago the Internet was a beautiful place where engineers and geeks lived in harmony.
- Comment on Latest ChatGPT model uses Elon Musk’s Grokipedia as source, tests reveal 3 weeks ago:
LLMs are good for searching in technical documentation. And that’s it. They are barely usable outside this niche.
Stop using it for “humanitarian” purposes. It can’t be a psychologist, lawyer or anything else similar.
