Formally? No, they didn’t need the Internet. De facto – you weren’t able to actively use it without the Internet.

They have? I don’t know – I’m still an ashhole.

20 years ago internet was the main pro-Windows argument, actually. Windows was completely comfortable without the internet, while Linux was barely usable offline without access to online repositories and forums to keep the system working.

That might be a win-win situation, actually. Imagine they all come to Linux and here the great battle will begin – between crazy vimers who remember crazy commands and newcomer crazy Win-admins who keep a bunch of register(reestr? What was its name? Win system config with stupid key names like “ADDA-4534-FA45-4532” ) keys in their EULA-heads.
I hope both sides will lose :) - Comment on I get around 3 days ago:

I am not talking about the game design. I am talking about situations when developers purposefully check if the player cheats or makes something strange and then developers intentionally make things worse.

plague tale
I believe I have tried it. Until the first boss, where I was forced to run around him and try to dismantle his armour piece by piece with a sling and stones. Of course he caught me while having the last piece of armour on. Uninstalled and never even considered giving it a second chance.

The game has red-yellow-green health scale, not 0-100%. It would have taken too much effort to experiment while looking for the correct value.

Fiddling with the script engine can lead to unexpected results.
I am a programmer myself and have an overall understanding of what can happen unintentionally. I don’t see how adding a few medkits in the inventory could lead to the boss to jump over the puddles :)
And which game was it?

- Comment on Why are there so many Christmas songs, yet hardly any New Year's ones? 3 weeks ago:
The Catholic and Orthodox churches are less tolerant of those sorts of things, so people in countries with heavy influence from those churches - like yourself - won’t have had anything like it.
You slightly missed with your reasoning of my case: Ukraine is an exUSSR republic where religion wasn’t actually encouraged, so we don’t have any secular traditions about religious events. But because of the hardships of life, religion has crept back during the last 30 years and so have religious songs and traditions. As a result, Christmas is a purely religious event here, and it is interesting only for religious people.

Some songs from cartoons and movies? I think I could recall a few. No idea how they are called, of course :)
- Comment on Why are there so many Christmas songs, yet hardly any New Year's ones? 3 weeks ago:
I’m, from Ukraine (Eastern Europe) and never heard a christmas song except for a part of some cult festive events.

From what country are you? I don’t know a single Christmas song (except for some strictly religious shit), but I think I could recall a few New Year-related (they’re mostly for children, though)
