The parents?

The parents would be mostly Gen X in this graph, I think. Gen Z are kids born in the late 90’s through early 2010’s. So early Gen Z started graduating from high school around 2012, with the last of Gen Z graduating right about now.

So this low data point is the end of covid. Does that return to normal within the next couple of years?

The survey is done every three years.

I wonder why 2012 was such a good year.

Is that a big jump? From 500 to 490?

As someone from the class of 2003, the numbers are definitely going down. Can’t tell you anything else about this graph though.

What are PISA/OECD? Are these metrics meaningful?
vateso5074@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
It’s an international assessment of academic performance. They test students around the same age range and compare their results to other countries and to performance of previous years.
The graph shows that performance is dropping relative to previous years (presumably a global trend, I don’t see a specific country listed), but whether the metrics are meaningful is something I’m not qualified to say. Assessments like this are always debatable.

That just means it’s about the US.

If you don’t think the question deserves an answer, then just don’t. There’s no point in being a dick about it.

Oh the fucking irony!
Did you lose track of the written words after the first question mark perchance?
