Do you want to view nothing?
Update on that update: There’s no update. But, we’ll keep you updated!
Indie game devs milking their patrons cash be like:
This must be some new dark pattern because my Meta VR headset, Twitter, and Instagram have all started giving me false notification badges recently. I’m just teaching myself to ignore the red badges because it’s not worth the annoyance.
I’d say it’s some form of this: www.deceptive.design/types/nagging
LinkedIn is absolute garbage. It’s Facebook for your work persona, which makes it worse than Facebook because nobody is willing to risk sounding unprofessional by calling things bullshit. It’s all “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and useless when looking for work.
I want to delete my account and everytime I fear, what if I mess up my career and won’t end up getting a new job if they can’t verify my profile.
Can’t you disable your account without deleting? info would still be out there but, nobody would be able to see it again till you made it live
I’m having to look for work myself. You have my full sympathy.
And you mine bro
WhatsApp: “You may have unread messages”
Thanks, WhatsApp. Aren’t you useful.
I mean would you rather not get an email and worry that they forgot or there was a glitch? This small update is just updating you that there’s no responses.
Yes.
Who the fuck calls LinkedIn to check on the status of a social media post?

Hey X company, your Y system isn’t working correctly, I didn’t get my Z.
Somethings not working, how would they know if you DON’T contact them….?
Yes, I would rather have no email if there is nothing to update. I mark every one of these style emails as spam because I deal enough with garbage mail, I don’t need legitimate companies bolstering my inbox to get their name shown. Cause that’s the real reason for that. It’s meant as a reminder that the platform exists, to encourage you to go back onto it again.
When I’m in a sendingnuseless emails that you can’t unsubscribe from competition and my opponent is linkedin
Hey but at least they can train their AI on your data now
That reminds me I should delete my LinkedIn , especially annoyed at Microsoft nagging on my work ( teams etc ) me to confirm my linked in account.
As a serious question: would you rather no email when no updates or an email saying no updates?
I guess I’d rather the email to not wonder if something got lost or some other issue.
Now the multiple in one day: I can’t really defend. That seems nutty. Maybe they should let you choose how often to get the given update.
I can’t believe I’m answering this, but, I obviously expect the “update email” to arrive when there’s an update. No emails = no updates
The least they could do is change the subject line when there are none.
In a similar vein if you apply to a job, do you prefer being ghosted or a rejection email?
Just thought I’d let you know that I’ll let you know when I have an update…none right now, but I wanted to update you that you have no updates at this time
I’m 47 and have never had a LinkedIn account. If I wind up job searching again at my age, I’ll gladly take a job digging ditches before I create an account on that hive of scum and villainy.

yeah, LinkedIn smells way worse ever since they were acquired by Microsoft…

Holy fuck that explains alot. I was wondering why the website was acting so clunky.

That happened 9 years ago. Microsoft bought it in 2015.
