“Jesus, these Italians oughtta do something about this shitfuck traffic.”
“Sir, the motorcade is quite literally 100% of the traffic in the city.”
“It’s only 40 cars, why can’t they build us a 40 lane road? Is this not a first world Christian nation?”

For the record I am neither Chinese nor Asian, but I assume this is just active voice.
This isn’t some novel phenomenon special to Japan. Seasonal local festivals that attract many times the local population happen everywhere. At first there’s trash everywhere and general chaos. Local government and event organizers adapt and improve infrastructure. Or they throw up their hands and say the tourists are impossible to manage. In the modern day, they monitor social media and predict crowd sizes based on impressions and engagement. They respond with increased infrastructure that includes trash and bathrooms. That’s actuarials.

Either you have not read this comment section, or you are deliberately misconstruing it to feel more comfortable with yourself.

It’s not, the reasonable solution is to provide more restrooms. But it apparently didn’t happen, thus the unreasonable solution.

Also, what exactly are you suggesting “the problem” is, then? Because based on the rest of the thread, it sounds like most of the people refusing to name the problem are quietly encouraging Chinese racism.
- Comment on Japan cancels cherry blossom festival over complaints of tourists littering and ‘defecating’ in yards 1 week ago:
Elsewhere in this thread, it definitely sounds like that’s the problem? People are saying these are residential neighborhoods where the only public restrooms are in a park, and they were already packed and overflowing.
- Comment on Japan cancels cherry blossom festival over complaints of tourists littering and ‘defecating’ in yards 1 week ago:
How are the locals planning to accomplish that? Cutting down the cherry trees? Walled city?

It’s frequently on sale for 3.99 on steam!

If the public bathrooms are already packed, and people are finding other places to go, there clearly aren’t enough bathrooms to manage the number of tourists. Temporary extra bathrooms like porta-potties are completely reasonable here. Surely they’re less of an eyesore than shit in a yard or street.

There is no reasonable explanation here except inadequate availability of public restrooms for the amount of tourists.

Interesting, I do 1.5x for certain podcasts and tabletop like Critical Role, but even at that speed I miss things and lose comprehension (although I am usually multitasking as well)
- Comment on Playback speed past X2 is now a YouTube paid feature 3 weeks ago:
What do you watch on that speed? Genuine question, not saying it’s not a shitty arbitrary restriction

- Comment on IPhones' default photo format is HEIC, something that Windows doesn't open by default. 1 year ago:
That’s exactly the same case as Windows. The built-in photo/video players don’t support them out of the box, but do if you install the free codec from the store, or you can install any 3rd party players you like.
There are lots of great things about Linux, but out of the box support for licensed video codecs isn’t one of them

How many distros support h264/265 out of the box? They probably don’t support most HEIC images either since they’re HEVC on the inside
