    You might be on to something. Poorly made booze likely contains lots of methanol. And chronic methanol feeding led to memory impairments (…) in mice

    Ensuring data availability, of course.

    I do have concerns how the incoming ~fascists~ “administration” in the US will handle encryption, VPNs, etc, and what that will entail for privacy and acquisition of certain types of data. I’m confident the internet will always find a way, but it’ll definitely be interesting to see what happens in the coming years. I’ve been on a download spree as if late because I’ll be damned if media corps have free range to bleed us dry to listen to music and watch movies, nevermind what conservatives will try to censor next.

      If the US outlaws VPNs I will genuinely, honestly and truthfully sell all of my personal belongings except my 16tb hard drive full of personal photos and 🏴‍☠️, and move out of the country. My right to privacy is (one of many places where) I draw the line.

I have - checking my notes here - 63GB of my own personal library, and that’s rather small I’d say, only been collecting high quality content for about 21 years. Someone somewhere has TB in their collection, and the smart ones will be relaxing in bliss while everyone else is blue-balled and nutting to the lady on a can of soup.

      What are you talking about? The material is available because it isn’t hosted in the USA, not because I’m going to provide my id.

      Also I store over a terabyte of obscure stuff I like (but I don’t share it online).
