I played MGS5 about two years ago during the pandemic.
My god. That game shouldn’t be so graphically beautiful, better than most games that were being released.
Shame the game didn’t have a full ending. I want closure. But that’s my phantom pain.

Also a shame that the best part was the opening chapter. The mission based stories didn’t do it for me. I’d rather had a linear game like it’s predecessors.
I miss kojima making metal gear games
Currently playing Witcher 3 GOTY, prenextgen version, still looks amazing, performance is great, story is great, 70 hours in and counting, did not even touch DLCs yet. Enjoying it.
I fully believe it, been taking of playing metal gear 5 and it’s finally a good age for me to play it as a patient gamer.
Also, I finished Witcher 3, it taking closer to 10 years sounds about right for me for an RPG.
MGS5 definitely worth it - unfinished story be damned
I still haven’t finished Witcher 3 :/
I forced the ending after like 100 hours. I was just tired

A 10 year old game turns 10, yes

I think it’s more the fact that games like Witcher 3 and Bloodborne are still discussed so much despite being a decade old now. Just kind of crazy 10 years have passed already.

It‘s also crazy how they‘ve aged. Do top games nowadays look better? Yes. Do they look a decade better, though?

It’s significant because in those 10 short years, a significant portion of the talent left the industry for greener pastures. When you mix genius level IQ people, definitely in the spectrum, with corporate types pushing line go up mentality and career drones using thought police tactics to progress theulir careers, while having 0 creativity, you get the current brand of AAA games from Western developers, aka, trash. They are more worried with the game’s response on xitter than if the game is fun…

Yeah, obviously. The interesting thing is that the Witcher 3 and Bloodborne hold up so well though and are still actively talked about. The Witcher 3 still looks beautiful even without the recent upgrades and Bloodborne could look fantastic if it wasn’t limited by the PS4 specs.
It’s kind of a testament to the fact that we’ve mostly plateaud in terms of real graphical advances imo

I’m playing the NextGen update of Witcher 3 right now and it’s glorious. Really does hold up.
