I always feel the need to say Good Morning to Crows and Ravens. No particular superstition about it, it just feels right.

I have a ton of crows in my back yard having some sort of cawing competition. Is this a sign of something? Should I be worried? I’ve also had a black cat cross my path…

I feel that way about maggies as well.

I always tall to the maggies around my house. No idea why.

They listen so well. That tip tilted head as they work out whether or not you have food for them …

There was a little Maggie chap who lacked a foot at my last house. Kinda miss him.

the crows in my area have been more active the past couple of days too

Did the black cat walk under the ladder and break a mirror on the way through? If not, then I think you’re all good.

She was being a bit suspicious in the vicinity of both my stepladder and a cracked mirror in my sewing room the other day, does that count?
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 5 months ago
Probably. The cracked mirror could be the giveaway. Better throw some salt over your left shoulder just in case. Preferably outside to save on vacuuming.

This has been happening at my place too sans the black cat sighting. They’re so loud as well. I don’t know what attracts them here.

The crows are definitely a rare event where I am, although the black cat is a regular occurrence. Usually she is trying to trip me up.
There have also been a lot of cockies around lately, probably related to the liquidambar seeds everywhere. Maybe it’s some sort of bird war?

Well, it’s late autumn and the food sources are about to dry up (unless you’re a raven and like maccas and burger offcuts). I suspect all this gathering is a social thing where they’re dividing up territories amongst themselves for the winter.
