Idiots will pre-order anything.

Idiots will buy anything.

This right here.

I am sure a shit load of those sales were pre-release sales made by consumers that assumed the goodwill of Insomniac would translate to a win.
There is no reason to preorder a game especially on a platform that doesn’t regularly offer refunds.
harmbugler@piefed.social 23 minutes ago
Sony sell games now?
creamfresh@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
Let people have fun. Maybe even try it yourself.
Amnesigenic@lemmy.ml 7 minutes ago
If you’re having fun playing with garbage I’m gonna have fun telling you it’s garbage
the_q@piefed.social 58 minutes ago
Such a telling and disheartening message…
creamfresh@lemmy.world 25 minutes ago
What does it tell you?
the_q@piefed.social 16 minutes ago
That you don’t understand that the fun your referencing has a cost and the cost is paid by others in various ways. A lot of suffering involved with “fun”.
ms_lane@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
anything I don’t like is bad and anyone who plays it is an idiot
- the_q@piefed.social
Amnesigenic@lemmy.ml 5 minutes ago
In this specific instance that statement is entirely accurate
the_q@piefed.social 10 hours ago
This is a great example of misinterpreting what’s being said with an emotional response.

“I like this thing and defend its faults, and anyone who is against it is disingenuous”
dudeface@lemmy.world 16 hours ago
Doesn’t sound like it’s a bad game, it’s just not anything amazing
I won a copy so I will play it one day
Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 16 hours ago
How did you win it?
dudeface@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
I work in the gaming industry, our studio has draws for new games, I have won other ps5 games previously
dan1101@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
I mean sometimes you want to just zone out and play something dumb. You don’t get any gamer credibility but nothing wrong with having fun.
Datz@szmer.info 5 hours ago
You’re paying $60 (or is this 70?) for “something dumb”, though. If there’s no passion for it, why buy now? I might buy Sonic 06 for $5 and have a laugh, but at launch there’s no way (even if Wolverine is less “bad” and more “easy”, point still stands)
the_q@piefed.social 10 hours ago
Your “just have fun” stance ensures companies make poor quality experiences because people will still buy it. The capitalist love people that just want to zone out.
artyom@piefed.social 18 hours ago
Well…they won’t buy Concord.
Goodeye8@piefed.social 16 hours ago
Concord was a brand new IP, this is an established popular IP. The brand recognition alone probably sells a million units.
Lydon_Feen@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
Damn… even idiots know that game sucks.
It must sting for the devs.
threeonefour@piefed.ca 17 hours ago
Lesson learned! You need a licenced character on the cover if you want idiots to buy it!
Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 16 hours ago
Which is weird, because when I was a kid, having movie/tv/comic tie in games usually meant a rushed/bad game, and thus should be avoided.
I guess LJN had to go out of business eventually.
