If anything Saudi Arabia might sell off IP that EA sat on for decades and ignored
- Comment on Behold, "the whole story of Steam's economy in one picture": the top 1% of games earn 84.5% of estimated revenue, and most games barely make anything 5 days ago:
It is not news to me that a handful of games have the most players, also considering people put low effort garbage on all stores constantly I don’t think the bottom 90% deserve anything
- Comment on Flat earthers 5 days ago:
They don’t explain much outside their talking points as far as I know
- Comment on Flat earthers 5 days ago:
They actually think it moves around the plane in a circle, they look at maps where the artic is in the centre, they also think that Antarctica is a wall of ice around the edge of the disc keeping the water in or something like that

I got a PS5 a year ago after not having any console since the n64, and there is probably a lifetime of good games that I can pick up on deep sale without buying anything full price
I’m old and don’t play that often anymore

The consoles are where people spend money, they don’t need the largest install base to be more profitable than PC

I grew up in New Zealand and any game Australia banned was effectively banned there also since we were bundled in as the same market
Australia is quite conservative and never liked violent video games

If you know you are going to buy it regardless why not just do it now
People can cancel if they see gameplay they don’t like
- Comment on Netflix to shut down two game studios: Night School and Moonloot 1 week ago:
Or perhaps they promise the purchasing company something they cannot deliver on time and companies like Netflix are less understanding to bloating budgets

Why do you think it was pre rendered?, they typically use in engine footage

- Comment on Michigan Republicans vote to strip child labor protections 1 month ago:
I would argue that’s a holdover from the Europeans and while they became more enlightened and peaceful the Americans took no lessons
- Comment on Michigan Republicans vote to strip child labor protections 1 month ago:
The experiment was going ok for a while
So well in fact other countries adopted a lot from you, yet you never saw improvements on your systems to be emulated at all
Weird suicide of a nation that never needed to happen
- Comment on Bethesda Union Workers To Protest Mass Layoffs Next Week 1 month ago:
GTA5 broke records before online was even out but online became popular also
A company focusing on the most popular part of their business is essentially what they have to do, it wasn’t just that whales spent money it just became far more popular than any single player dlc would be

I am sure GTA will buck the trend

The main thing is that even if you shift to a more exclusive business model and charge more people will just borrow to get your new thing because it is more expensive
Nobody will be talking about any of this in a year anyway and it will be accepted as what is normal
