  I have never heard anyone call computer science “datafag”, it’s usually called “informatikk” (like “informatics” which you can also say in English), and “slutt” just means end or stop, I have never heard anyone use it to refer to graduating.

    My dad did 'datafag' some 50 years ago, at least I think they called it that. It was the era of 'hullkort' (punchcards).
    Also I think it should be sluttdatafag all in one word. I seem to remember some old folks referring to graduate degrees as sluttfag. I dont think anyone has ever put 'data' in the middle there though. Sounds like AI hallucination.

      With regards to “sluttfag”, I couldn’t find anything real, but Google’s AI summary says “Et sluttfag er et fag på videregående skole som blir avsluttet med en standpunktkarakter det gjeldende skoleåret” - so it’s the final year of a subject that gives you a grade on your high-school diploma… according to a language model :l

  To pull you back just a little “slutt datafag” is an expression for the subject which you are graduating. I don’t think it makes sense as a description for a person.

  But you are free to call yourself a “fagperson”. This is a very common phrase to describe a person with education.
