My daughter went to the movies last night with her boyfriend and the police were called because there was an unruly patron.
Question of the day: When were the police called during a innocuous activity you happened to spectate?

In the covid Christmas where you weren’t allowed to gather in homes, we set up a table on the nature strip of my mums unit, she’s the front unit in a block of 3. Her neighbour from unit 3 called the cops who came and joined us for a bit, even put on a paper hat from the cracker!

shoplifting
because a kid taking chocolate bars is gonna hurt the company
StudChud@aussie.zone 1 week ago
No one shoplifts. They only take back from the megacorpos what the common people are owed.
I’ve seen people sneak pads and tampons, food, whatever. But I didn’t see shit. Megacorpos can eat the loss, their executives are making more in a month than any shoplifter does in a year, so fuck those cunts.
I’ve knicked a set of four mugs from Woolies back in 2012, still have them lol. #yolo

Oh I have plenty, due to the alley below my balcony being a hot spot for meth-induced shenanigans.
Partner and I were partaking in the devil’s lettuce one evening, and we heard a woman pass through the alley multiple times. She was, I think, in the throes of some cptsd flashback combined with meth, so was losing her shit at her abusers. No one else was down there.
Partner and I were just like “damn, she needs some serious health help”. I think one of my neighbours called the police though. They rock up, and try calmly (I was surprised) de-escalating, but she wasn’t having it. She called them “fucking pigs” who “only care about rich people” “Youse don’t give a FUCKING SHIT about people like me ya rapists!” “Youse beat your wives up every night ya cunts!”
I should have kept quiet, but I yelled from the privacy of my balcony “yeah girl you tell them pigs!” 😂 Partner just put his head in his hand and I heard the lady scream “SEE SEE EVERYONE HATES YOU DOGS!”
I keep quiet now, but shit that was funny. I haven’t heard her in months now (she was a regular alley screamer), so I really hope she got the help she needs

the thing is who can we call when people need help? There is no hot line for social work and what if the person is dangerous?
so it’s a terrible dilemma
solution, we need a social work hot line for call outs and someone to keep the social worker safe
we need to decriminalise drugs too
StudChud@aussie.zone 1 week ago
Drug addiction should be treated as a health concern, instead of a criminal offence imo
I know there used to be a CAT team you could call, but when I did that for mum years ago they didn’t help at all; she just masked her schizophrenic symptoms until they left and didn’t care what I said. Idk if they’ve improved but with my terrible experience calling them, I don’t dare to now.

Honestly. That’s pretty funny. But I feel bad for laughing lol

My husband and I were eating at macca’s one night, it was community day or some shit and there was a young cop wrapping burgers who looked bored as until some drunk walking in asking for a “fucking slurpee”. The drunk was now surrounded by the bored young cop and some mates and escorted out of the fine establishment. Husband and I continued eating, chuffed we got a show as well.

What kind of dropkick gets cops called on them at the movies. Seriously.
I’ve seen cops called to a picnic at a local park cause apparently there were too many people (there wasn’t) and a local felt threatened (they weren’t).
Before you ask, the picnic patrons were Muslim which apparently sparked fear in poor old Betsy.

Ah the classic “they’re of a different religion/colour so they must be up to no good! I swear I’m not racist!” argument 🙄🙄🙄
