Let me just…
If < insert big name party in America > were capable of using logic, they wouldn’t be < insert big name party in America >.

One group is transparently gaslighting themselves on a daily basis, on national channels that they own. We can safely say the R’s have an aversion to reality.
Rustmilian@lemmy.world 1 month ago
This is very true. They simply can’t accept that they voted for a tyrant.

Five examples spanning decades? 👏

You’re absolutely right. We really should have more than 2 political parties.
Unless you were trying to make some other point.

You are purposely choosing to ignore the context in which the original statement was made, so that you can paint it as unfounded.
That’s either pure intellectual dishonesty, or an exemplary demonstration of being incapable of logical thought, either of which seems to place you squarely in the demographic being targeted in this thread.
Rustmilian@lemmy.world 1 month ago
False. I’m simply saying that it applies to more than just conservatives… That’s all. Not that it doesn’t apply to conservatives at all…
It’s literally not even a fighting statement but a simple reference to the cooked state of American political parties. It’s not that deep my friend.
ByteJunk@lemmy.world 1 month ago
That’s a distinction without a difference.
If you’re looking to refute a point, then commit to it and argue properly. If you’re trying to make a different point, then state it and provide your reasoning.
You did neither.

Yes, the Democrats are also conservatives by global standards.

It’s very annoying to see “you’re only in the other camp because you’re a dumb-dumb” rolled out as the logic espoused by two failed and crumbling political institutions.
It’s two sinking ships and the captains only know how to give the order “point at the other boat and scoff harder!”
Phil_in_here@lemmy.ca 1 month ago
No, it’s one sinking ship. Two captains alternate command. One side cordons off the holes with a velvet rope, the other is drilling holes to collect on the insurance money.
They both have insurance policies out on the boat.

Uh, everyone tuck your pants into your socks

Yes. That’s partly why I made the comment.
Right on the money.

Not true! We’ve all heard of the communist part…
Oh they don’t anymore do they?
