- Comment on What Did William Burrito Mean by This? 2 days ago:
That’s one of the things I respect the hell out of with Bill Burr. He says plenty of shit I disagree with, but also says lots that I strongly agree with. His opinions are truly his own and he’ll voice them to a reasonable point. He’s no one’s parrot.

Can you provide evidence for this
Oh, no, we’re in lemmyshitpost, so I was just talking shit about the absolutely insane marketing choice to try to sell them as “triangles”.
But here we are talking about it, so fuck me, it’s working.
- Comment on Should I be Concerned? 1 week ago:
That’s a very generous assumption for a company whose “flavoured, uhhh, triangles” can’t pass the legal threshold of the word “chip” or “snack”, let alone “tortilla”.
- Comment on When will we have auto turrets mounted on plane engines to stop birdstrikes? 1 week ago:
Terminal velocity is really only relevant for objects that go below terminal velocity and then start falling. Bullets famously come out of guns very fast, so fast they go into people.
While air will slow the bullet down, tell that to the guy over over 2 miles away from Viacheslav Kovalskyi
Now, bird shot ain’t sniper rounds, but the point stands.
- Comment on Doordash deserves it's fate 1 week ago:
“Freedom” to “free market” types is the freedom to do whatever you want with no consequences regardless of the impact to others.
“Free market” means if you get duped or swindled then “you deserved it”.
“Free market” means if it really causes harm then “people just won’t buy it”.
“Free market” is way more what most people think anarchy is than what anarchists are advocating for.
Anarchy is “if I want to do cocaine and I die, that’s on me, the government shouldn’t be allowed to control what I do with my body”
Free market is “we should be allowed to add a little bit of cocaine to this baby formula so our brand beats out the competition and no one should be allowed to tell us we can’t”
- Comment on Anon has a business idea 3 weeks ago:
It is. But if you fully and openly disclose that’s what you’re doing when selling a individual a personalized product for literally their own enjoyment, I don’t see the harm.
Sure, the client isn’t going to tell people that weren’t there that it’s all generated, but what’s the problem? Someone might believe you were media-attractive 10 years ago at your wedding?
Photography probably put a lot of portrait painters out of business, but it didn’t destroy painting as an art form.
Grab that bag, man.

- Comment on Frostpunk creators cancel "Project 8" and lay off staff amid concerns that "narrative-driven, story-rich games" don't sell 2 months ago:
I’m in there. I see “story rich” and it reads as a crutch for no gameplay, or a premise for a book without the responsibility of pacing.
I know that’s far from true, and there are loads of great story-rich games that are fun and engaging. But when that’s the main tag, it turns me away.

To be fair, Rogers didn’t die. It monopolized data communication with insufficient regulation. It had an inevitable outage that could have been bypassed if not for the reasons listed.
Rogers continues to make stacks while the public foots the bill.

- Comment on Most of the trick-or-treaters have been skipping my house, and I finally figured out why 3 months ago:
That’s not it at all. Literally, my children told me, “I don’t want to go up, I just want to go to the houses with bowls”. But it’s not a lazy thing, it’s a social anxiety thing. We don’t chat with strangers, we don’t make small talk with people we don’t know, we don’t ask people things we can find out without asking people things. We’re socially awkward parents and we have socially awkward children.
Millennials, the ones who would much rather text than call on the phone their dearest friends and closest relatives, are 35-40 years old. They’re the ones with halloweening children and those kids are just ask averse to face to face interactions with neighborhood residents as we are.
