Yeah, although I appreciate those minutes because my dailies overlap with the time interval my body decides is time to take a shit

I’ve been told I’ve been given “the gift of time”

I hear it at the end of almost every single meeting and it’s typically for less than five minutes. I’ve had people get near the end of a meeting, extend it by half an hour, but only go 15min over, and then still say they’re giving us time back
Jankatarch@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
They are giving negative time back.
Landless2029@lemmy.world 9 hours ago
I hear it daily.
Cruxifux@feddit.nl 9 hours ago
I’d cut my ears off.
Landless2029@lemmy.world 9 hours ago
Sometimes I get a 1 hour meeting ending in 20 min.
I’m glad to hear it.
Darkmuch@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
Eh, I hear it a lot at my job. But that’s because meetings usually go way longer than they should. So anytime it ends early people are quite pleased.
entwine413@lemm.ee 17 hours ago
In my experience it’s usually when the meeting ends like 30 minutes before it’s scheduled to.
Spacehooks@reddthat.com 12 hours ago
Boss does it regularly
expr@programming.dev 17 hours ago
Yeah… I do hear it a lot.
Rentlar@lemmy.ca 17 hours ago
Yeah it happens a lot. At my job people are given 40 hours (or more, without overtime) of work to be done, and then call meetings that eat up into those hours, so ending early gives people back the time the meeting took away from them.
Cruxifux@feddit.nl 16 hours ago
Naw. Naw man. Shit naw man I believe you’d get your ass kicked for something like that man.
ysjet@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
Nope, it’s a real thing. Granted, I mostly see it used when a meeting ends 30-40 minutes early.
Cruxifux@feddit.nl 12 hours ago
It’s a quote from Office Space.
