My dining table is usually half covered in craft stuff and school stuff because there’s nowhere else to put it, so there’s room for a couple of people to sit at the other end. There’s also the couch, where the Minipeelers usually sit for meals. Mr P lays on his bed (in the next room) and eats dinner on a tray. It sounds weird but we are all no more than a few metres from each other. I don’t invite people over because I don’t want people to see how I live.

Question: Do you eat at the kitchen table or in the lounge room or other?
We eat at the table but tonight I was a rebel and ate in the lounge room.

I was meant to have friends over last night but they cancelled and I’m glad because my kitchen looked like a bomb had gone off. It’s all better today.
Don’t be too harsh on yourself. You’re a working mum who puts her family first. You’re doing great in my book. 🙂

Thankyou! 🙂 I tell myself it won’t always be this way, and one day we will have an actual whole house to live in (or I will buy an apartment or regional home and piss off) but at the moment we’re living in a space that was built for one elderly person.

Our big table is currently hosting a lego build, towels waiting to be folded and a tub of cake decorating stuff from me decorating my mother’s birthday cake. There was still enough room for the three of us to eat dinner though.

The last time I lived in a house that was large enough - my last sharehouse - there was no kitchen table, but there was a small dining room (with dining table) and a lounge room (couches and fire). I usually ate on the dining table unless I felt like staring into the fire of a cold evening. Occasionally, I would eat in my room if I was working hard on uni/work.
As a kid I used to hate eating at a table. I’d always eat in front of the computer or TV

Having the option to sit in front of a fire would be awesome.

Dining table but not formal or anything 😊

I have a gully kitchen and at the end sits my table and chairs. Technically that part is a dining room because it has carpet but there’s nothing separating the two.

I’m a bachelor. Loungeroom couch. I don’t even have a dining table 🤣

We eat at the table. The table is far to big for the space since we did a kitchen renovation but I love it so it’s squished in a corner.

Usually I just sit on the couch. I use the dining table if I have guests or if I’m eating soup.

I need one of those plastic baby bibs that catch food in them so I can eat sausage rolls on the couch.

I try to make a point of everyone eating at the table together now with the kids. There are occasions that’s not the case but they’re few and far between fortunately

Usually on the couch watching tv.

I dine in the East Wing conservatory.💅

With the family or just you and the butler?
useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 2 days ago
hehe.
We have one table between the kitchen and lounge so it works out well. MissGod takes her meals in her room because she has Misophonia.

YL won’t eat with us if there’s lemons involved because of the way the man sucks on them like an orange.

She can hear miso being added???
