He always looks like he knows he’s a piece of shit and feels bad about it.

Y’all are being way too harsh. I’m sure he has a really good reason for why he enabled and protected Harvey Weinstein’s rapery. Something so convincing that we’d all say, “you were absolutely right to help blow up the lives of fellow artists. You’re really not a piece of shit!”
entwine413@lemm.ee 1 month ago
There’s never a good reason to enable and protect rape.

Can’t believe people are down voting you.
Even Lemmy has tunnel vision on their celebrity idols.
Dude is a fucking douchebag and way overrated as an actor and director.
Who the fuck always casts themselves in their own movies and is NOT a d-bag.

What did he do?
Ifera@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Allegedly, he was aware of Harvey Weinstein’s abuse, at least according to Rose McGowan. And since a lot of people are reactionary as fuck, since she accused him of being aware, then they act and behave as if he was undoubtedly aware and complicit in it.
Derpenheim@lemmy.zip 1 month ago
The things is, EVERYONE was aware. But he was so powerful, and literally controlled everyone’s future. What was he supposed to do?
Ifera@lemmy.world 1 month ago
I wasn’t /s
But seriously, it is far easier being on the outside, pointing and casting blame, but for us old enough to remember all the people who were blackballed, run out of the business, and even murdered for exposing sexual abuse, it is hard to tell.
And on top of that, there are cases where a third party has exposed the abuse, to which both the victim and perpetrator deny the accusations, and it just ends up terribly for the whistleblower.
Yet, back to the point, we’re on
redditlemmy, where nuance goes to die.
