Well shit that answers my question as well. I’d definitely set him straight on his “disappointing” because it doesn’t seem like he respects an agreement.
Good luck separating that man child from his money at least.

Seems like a good thing to milk for a bit then GTFO when you save enough to achieve some goal
I don’t know what’s your education level but at your age that sounds like a great deal to set yourself up. I hope you’re saving a ton with the aim to make investments and basically be able to have your life mostly solved monetarily from your 30s onward

Assuming you’re from the US:
Start saving for those juicy medical bills because that is how you get those juicy medical bills.

Back at a time when I naively worked 80+ hours every week, I had a doctor lecture me about slowing down saying, “if you want to have a heart attack at 50, keep doing what you’re doing.”
Naturally, I ignored that advice. What made me stop was the realization that my employer did not care about all the nights and weekends that I gave up for them. It was totally meaningless to them. Just as meaningless as OP’s nights and weekends are to their boss.

Sounds like Kellogg’s.
Guys sleep at the plant. They have showers and beds. They’ll spend a week there, rake in an ass load of overtime, and go home for a few hours a week. Rinse, repeat. To what end I have no idea, not like you can do that forever

Your employer will not be there at Thanksgiving.
If you dedicate your life to work, neither will your family.
