- Comment on World of Warcraft adds $90 mount to in game store 4 weeks ago:
There was a green mount similar to this one they added in BFA for a large sum of gold. But they claimed to dislike how it encouraged so many people to play the market and removed it.
- Comment on Former Paradox, CD Projekt and 11-bit devs reveal new 4X strategy RPG that splices Manor Lords with Crusader Kings 4 weeks ago:
I understand why it can’t be multiplayer with how long the feasts and other events can run. But I love playing these games with friends.
- Comment on "Hey Google, Turn my balls off" 4 months ago:
For you
- Comment on Anon plays Balatro 5 months ago:
FWIW the dev claims to hate gambling. Playing Cards and poker hands are just theming, as you visit the shop more things really get off rails, but even before that you have multiple hands to get the target score and multiple mulligans to shape those hands.
- Comment on ASUS breaks your ROG Ally if you don't pay $200 for warranty repairs: SCAMMING COMPANY! 6 months ago:
Because they don’t need touchpads and like an asymmetrical layout
- Comment on Anon doesn't like any web browsers 6 months ago:
The intro-to-programming instructor at the school I work at loves it. But he also has a GME To The Moon sticker on his PC. Seems to be a beloved instructor
- Comment on Wise words from Master 6 months ago:
It was my first Rated M game and it set the bar impossibly high
- Comment on The miracle of childbirth 6 months ago:
Interesting how colloquially “earn it” is more positive than “deserve it”
- Comment on Arma and DayZ makers’ free-to-play looter-shooter Vigor is coming to PC, half a decade after consoles 7 months ago:
Given the state of DayZ I’m not confident it will be much more stable after they get out of Early Access.
- Comment on Keanu Reeves to play Shadow in the Sonic 3 movie as Sega announce the Year of Shadow 7 months ago:
Yeah he’s basically just a notch deeper than how I remember Shadow’s VA from Sonic Adventure 2.
- Comment on Getting old sucks 7 months ago:
Lots of young folks with time to dedicate to surfing were at the right age where lolrandom was peak humor. They were ripe to receive the shit posts of prodigious animators congregating on Newgrounds and Ebaums etc
- Comment on sleep paralysis 7 months ago:
This is consistent with my experience. I didn’t have a paralysis demon, but I was convinced my ceiling fan was plotting to kill me. Not that it was going to fall and hurt but that it was scheming to have me assassinated and would take matters into its own hands if necessary.
- Comment on acceptable screws 7 months ago:
Yup one of the first things I learned in computer repair is that a mostly flattened Philips works way better
- Comment on CD Projekt Red still 'don't see a place for microtransactions' in singleplayer games 7 months ago:
CDPR could be a lot better with mods, they intentionally undercooked their mod tools to ‘protect’ DLC sales. Didn’t stop people from doing some wild things like replacing all combat with themed Gwent decks.
- Comment on 'The gold rush is over:' Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon devs say that big Game Pass and Epic exclusive deals have dried up for indie devs 7 months ago:
Let me gift games, let me wishlist games to receive gifts. There’s lots of other features I would also like but if other stores had that I’d be much more inclined to use the other stores.
- Comment on No Man's Sky Orbital Update brings full ship customisation and a complete space station overhaul 7 months ago:
One thing I loved about Elite was the collection of mini games. Navigating through the space station to your landing pad, finding a suitable patch of surface to touchdown on a planet, having to fight or yield to a supercruise interdiction, they all came together to make Elite feel like a driving game where your vehicle happens to be a spaceship.
In No Man’s Sky landing and takeoff are achieved with a singular button press. And the ship combat is there to check a box. The game is mostly about taking pics of flora and fauna and digging trenches in planets for minerals.
- Comment on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom devs explain why it was a much bigger overhaul than you'd think 7 months ago:
The sort of alternate universe I yearned for once upon a time was Zelda continuing to be about time gimmicks. OoT had two points in a timeline, MM had the groundhog’s labor day weekend, and there was oracle of ages/seasons by Capcom. I guess there’s only so many ways to spin it though.
- Comment on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom devs explain why it was a much bigger overhaul than you'd think 7 months ago:
I really enjoyed the writing of the side characters in the N64 games. Sure most only had two maybe three things to say outside a side quest but they all had a nugget of commentary on the human condition.
- Comment on My breakfast routine 7 months ago:
That’s the one time a grocery store deal actually achieved its purpose of getting me to permanently switch brands. That mayo is perfect down to the texture.
- Comment on uncanny resemblance 8 months ago:
I host my pihole through Google because it makes me feel rebellious
- Comment on THE FINALS | Season 2 | March 14 8 months ago:
I loved getting my Assist medals in BF3 for consistently being just a bit slower than my opponent and dropping them down to 5% health. I am keeping the tradition alive in Finals
- Comment on 23-year-old Nintendo interview shows how little things have changed in gaming 8 months ago:
Brand recognition is cool and all but the rest of the world wants numbers or entirely new names, cmon N**ntendo.
- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 boss says gamers don’t want mass subscriptions 10 months ago:
He’s a CEO of a relatively small company that is product focused. He has yet to grow and focus margins in any serious way.
- Comment on IT support work be like 10 months ago:
It’s always understaffing.
- Comment on Anon borrows his dad's car 10 months ago:
Wtf I love my public country club now.
- Comment on A long and distinguished family 10 months ago:
You’d probably win an award at a cookout for your unusual take on pigs-in-a-blanket and they’d go right back to breading bits of hotdog.
- Comment on 'There's almost nobody left': CEO of Baldur's Gate 3 dev Swen Vincke says the D&D team he initially worked with is gone, due to Hasbro layoffs 11 months ago:
Imagine if we quit our jobs if we didn’t get an annual raise. Maybe we could afford housing.
- Comment on 'There's almost nobody left': CEO of Baldur's Gate 3 dev Swen Vincke says the D&D team he initially worked with is gone, due to Hasbro layoffs 11 months ago:
Revisiting DOS2 after playing BG3, the game feels like Splatoon: Painted surfaces everywhere, all the time.
- Comment on The Steam Deck OLED feels like a radiant new dawn for portable play 11 months ago:
If Steam’s built in remote play doesn’t quite meet performance needs then look into Moonlight. That software, with some help from Tailscale, lets me stream Yuzu from home to my deck at work, and I cannot perceive the input lag though I’m no snob.
- Comment on Bethesda confirms they are working on releasing new features you asked for, from city maps, to mod support, to all new ways of traveling next year for Starfield 11 months ago:
You’d have to change Daggerfall so that you can’t run, only fast travel, between dungeons and cities to truly mirror the Starfield experience.
