Yeah, that sounds like I’m saying it found it’s groove or something, I know.
What I was actually trying to say is that it stood on it’s own as a psychological suspense show, but then by the end of the season they inserted several twists and turns that made it something more. It would have been fun to see what they could do with a season 2.

Since I haven’t seen it mentioned yet and it deserves to be on these lists h Archive 81.
Such a great suspense show that was really starting to go somewhere by the end of the season.

This is also true when looking for repair parts at Home Depot.
Me: I need a replacement gasket for a Kohler toilet flush valve.
Them: Here’s a universal replacement flapper.
Me: My toilet doesn’t even have a flapper, I just need the -
Them: But this is universal, it’ll work.
I hate going to Amazon for everything, but shit like this is why…

The biggest problem in the US is how the insurance companies insert themselves between the doctor and patient, and tell you what services you’re allowed to receive without even being in the room for the diagnosis.

We interact with people from numerous Spanish speaking countries as part of an intern program, and the one thing every new group says is how funny each other’s slang sounds to the rest of the group. She might have a rough month or two, but then I think it would be fairly smooth after that.
- Comment on Welp. 2 weeks ago:
Very true. If she’s up for the challenge I really want her to do that. I’d love more reasons to go to Spain.

My daughter is about 2 years from graduating high school, and even before Trump came into office I was urging her to consider non-US colleges. Mostly because she wants to go into medicine and our healthcare system has been broken for much longer than I can remember. But also the rise of Fox News (and others) getting away with stating provable lies as fact, Joe Rogan, et al. showed that there has been an inflection point and the country is being led around by the dumbest of us.
She’s fluent in Spanish, though jumping straight into a medical program would introduce a lot of new specialized words, and might be to much. We’re starting to look into options though.
- Comment on Starbucks continues to be terrible 3 weeks ago:
Their retail products have the claim “100% Ethically Sourced”. That is a lie.
That all depends on which ethical code you’re referencing for your statement. I 100% believe that Starbucks sources according to their corporate ethical standards.

- Comment on I don't understand why underbaked borderline raw cookies are such a popular trend. 6 months ago:
I think what bothers him is that he had something that he liked and can no longer find. It may not be the case here, but companies (in the US) are en masse changing their recipes to be cheaper to manufacture and it’s affecting the end product.
I’m the case if something like a cookie which can be made 1000 different ways by 1000 different companies, finding what you like took time, luck, or both. When they change the recipe on you, it’s not a simple, “just buy a different cookie, dummy.”. It’s a major undertaking. Sometimes you get lucky and this was the push that allowed you to discover a new, even better, favorite. More often than not though, it’s just another part of your day that got just a little bit shittier than it was yesterday.
It’s annoying and I totally get it.
- Comment on What is the purpose of this plastic piece? 6 months ago:
Yeah this is probably the most likely. We do love to put plastic on everything.
- Comment on What is the purpose of this plastic piece? 6 months ago:
That’s a reasonable guess, but it suggests that (a lot) of people are unpacking new electronics over bare live electrical wire.
- Comment on What is the purpose of this plastic piece? 6 months ago:
I’ve been buying electrical and electronic things for years (okay decades), and the toys and computers I got as a kid never had these. The cords are always nicely cooked in their own cavity of the box too, so already protected well enough.
All in all it just seems like a solution to a non-existent problem.

- Comment on What interesting things can I do with my home WiFi network? 6 months ago:
I had done this for several years but recently I’m running into the issue where my home router won’t let me specify a DNS server that is on the same subnet. I dont have multiple networks running at home so I can’t make a Pihole work anymore.
