- Comment on Is it wrong to not have a disabled child solely to avoid forcing the child to suffer their whole life? 1 week ago:
And you tell your child when they’re suffering from a life long birth defect/disability that there was only a chance they could’ve ended up trapped like that.
I’m sure that will help them feel better and the rest of their life coping will be so much easier!
- Comment on Is it wrong to not have a disabled child solely to avoid forcing the child to suffer their whole life? 1 week ago:
Exactly this, you know the child will likely inherit and suffer but the parents want a kid so all that suffering the kid will be forced to endure and be trapped in a living hell… well that’s just fine!
To a lesser extent I see having kids in a world like this as similarly selfish.

Yes… the fediverse IS for everyone. You don’t want “evil” people anywhere near anything you’re involved in? Block their instance. Simple as.

- Comment on A Nation of Homebodies: A recent study shows Americans are spending notably more time at home, a trend that started long before the pandemic. 1 week ago:
What would you even do? Read a book, play a game, browse your phone, or something in these public spaces? What’s the difference between at home and in a public space with people?
People always talk about public spaces as if magically they would pull people in simply by existing and everyone would socialize with anyone else that showed up. That’s not what happens in reality though, because there are still public places in America and yet here we are anyway.

I used to hate fairhaven esp too until rewatches taught me to love them lol
- Comment on I just finished watching Voyager... again 1 week ago:
Same here but also, when a series is starting to get old when you’ve rewatched too much too recently or whatever, those “bad” episodes can be a fresh experience due to consistently avoiding them lol

Any time I have a problem with Xfinity, they force you to use the app which is a shitty AI assistant that gives you very narrow options to move forward thus requiring a real person. It’s real hard to get to a real person and when you do they’re in India and can’t actually help you either.
My favorite was when I finally got to a person on the phone who eventually decided they couldn’t help me and redirected me to a robot that told me to go online and speak to the chatbot that got me on the phone in the first place.
They just want to get rid of the person no interest in help.

- Comment on I’m Tired of Pretending Physical Media Isn’t Still Better Than Streaming Digital 3 weeks ago:
Why so the conversation centered around physical vs streaming???
But a cheap pc and use it to stream locally and you’ll have no real data loss and it will look just as good without having to fuck around with discs and dvd/bluray/whatever drives.
Fuck streaming services, fuck physical media, learn to manage it yourself and you’ll never cry about scratched disks, dead lasers, whatever else you have with physical, along with the bad downscaling, bad pricing, roving licenses of streaming services
- Comment on Me when I hear about Elon Musk 4 weeks ago:
He continues to do all he can to help Putin and sell out veterans and the elderly by attacking veteran benefit funding, cancer research, Medicare, social security…. He’s an extremely loud and proud anti-union anti-worker rights advocate, sexual predator, all-around man child who sides with Putin and authoritarian groups that do as well like the AFD. During the election he joked about Kamala getting assassinated multiple times, I could go on and on and on.
But yeah, so weird nobody fucking likes the elitist bastard… how strange.
- Comment on Tired of hearing about “The offshore team” 4 weeks ago:
Because just that one company has shifted to cheaper offshore work right? Surely the entire industry just about isn’t doing the exact same thing right?

- Comment on Tired of hearing about “The offshore team” 4 weeks ago:
You had to work with Indians to realize they’re just like us? 💀
- Comment on Tired of hearing about “The offshore team” 4 weeks ago:
I’ve had really good and really bad experiences with contractor companies from India. It’s truly hit or miss and more often than not you don’t get the same quality of code or commitment (contractor or not)
That said, I agree with pay. They work for cheap and it really hurts the industry here at home while helping the c-suite pocket more of the profits.
- Comment on Tired of hearing about “The offshore team” 4 weeks ago:
Not to mention the fact that the qualifications and the ability to communicate complex concepts and information without issue (in the language used by the rest of the company on shore) are almost always extremely subpar.
Too often I’m asked questions and I give thorough examples and ask if it makes sense and get a “yes” back immediately and then the next day rolls around and I’m asked the same questions by the same people and am forced to repeat the process.
I’m told these contractors are seniors with 10+ years of experience but act like junior interns.
But hey, the c-suite sees the real incentives here! Cheap labor!
- Comment on Frostpunk creators cancel "Project 8" and lay off staff amid concerns that "narrative-driven, story-rich games" don't sell 4 weeks ago:
Son has been screaming the exact opposite of this and it continues to garner them a fuck ton of cash.
There’s no way they actually believe that, the C-suite simply can’t stop salivating over the potential money a live service game can potentially provide

You’re the one taking it to gooner/sexist territory, is fans of the series now the characters and when the overall face-shop changes but keeps defining features like the scar on her cheek, it’s a little unexpected and strange at first.
